Full Job Description Summary:
The Project Superintendent oversees the on-site management of deep foundations construction projects, coordinating with multiple contractors and ensuring the project adheres to schedule, budget, and design specifications. This position involves higher-level strategic planning and client interaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise the total construction effort of the project to ensure it is constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule. Includes interfacing with client representatives, AE representatives, other contractors, etc. Plan, coordinate, and supervise onsite functions (scheduling, engineering, material control) and may provide day-to-day direction of onsite administrative staff. Supervise craft employees and/or other contractors as required by the contract. May authorize and/or approve all project personnel transactions, purchase requisitions, field design change requests, etc. Provide technical assistance, i.e., interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc., as required. Assist in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards, etc. Ensure compliance of all onsite personnel with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, etc. Document all violations, notify project management, and recommend/implement corrective actions as required. Assume responsibility for productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance of the project. Drilling using multiple techniques such as drilling with top can and polymer, and drilling with casing. Perform additional assignments per the supervisor's direction.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manage subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of employees in the field operations.
Requirements:
Willingness for 100% travel Particular states include Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Virginia, etc. High-level knowledge of pouring with a pump truck and rigging setting cages with CSL tubes Must have ability to set and shoot in anchor bolts using a total station Extensive knowledge of using a total station for distance and alignment as well as be able to shoot in elevations Overall knowledge and experience in managing large-scale deep foundations construction projects. Proven ability to coordinate multiple aspects of project management including material, labor, and time.
Education and Experience:
Four-year engineering degree or equivalent technical training and/or related experience. Minimum of ten years of construction management and/or craft supervision experience in deep foundations Extensive knowledge of deep foundations, drilled shafts for transmission lines, substations, and drilling Candidates that accept an offer of employment are required to undergo and successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination. This exam is essential to ensure that all potential employees meet the necessary health and fitness standards for the role. The examination includes a series of tests and evaluations conducted by a certified medical professional to assess overall physical health, identify any potential medical conditions that could interfere with job performance, and verify that the candidate is capable of safely performing the essential duties of the position.
