$23.00/hour ($47,840 annually) to $40.00/hour ($83,200 annually

Position Description:
Under the direction of the Natural Resources Superintendent, the Site Development Foreman serves as the lead equipment operator for in-house site development projects and coordinates the planning, execution, and completion of assigned work. This position provides day-to-day leadership to site development staff and supports the safe, efficient, and compliant completion of construction, trail, drainage, grading, and related park improvement projects. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: Operate and oversee the operation of heavy equipment used in earthwork and park development projects, including bulldozers, excavators, tractors, skid-steer loaders, rollers, and compactors. Perform and oversee site development work for park improvement projects, including trail construction and upgrades, grading, parking lot and roadway installation, underground utility work, and drainage structure installation. Assist with the planning, design, and layout of in-house site improvement projects and oversee field implementation. Transport heavy equipment and materials in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and safety requirements. Provide day-to-day direction, training, and oversight to assigned employees regarding work procedures and safety expectations. Estimate material quantities, procure materials in accordance with agency procedures, and coordinate timely delivery to project sites. Support compliance with applicable safety standards and regulatory requirements for excavation, earthwork, and related site development activities. Assist in administering preventive maintenance for heavy equipment, perform basic repairs, and coordinate outside service when needed. Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and materials needed to support operations and project work. Prepare project-related documentation and reports and support overall Natural Resources operations as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Three or more years of experience in site development, trail construction, grading, excavation, or related work required. Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred. Ohio Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) required. Excavation Safety Competent Person certification or related safety certification preferred.
Position Requirements:
Ability to safely operate heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, power tools, and other equipment required for site development work. Ability to read and interpret plans, grades, elevations, and project specifications. Ability to lead assigned staff, prioritize work, and maintain productivity in a team environment. Ability to work safely and effectively in outdoor environments and under varying weather conditions. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials, tools, and equipment consistent with the physical demands of the position. Must be able to work an irregular schedule, including weekends and holidays, as needed. Must possess a valid driver's license and remain insurable under the agency's liability policy. Pre-employment drug screen and background check required.
