Jacobs is seeking a Mid-career Irrigation Engineer to lead technical teams and lead the creation of planning, design, and construction documents for irrigation and water supply projects in our Boise, ID office. You will have a chance to be a leader in improving the irrigation infrastructure across our state and throughout the Northwest region. As a key member of our local and regional teams, you'll have a chance to participate in challenging and engaging irrigation storage and conveyance projects - leading projects with high degrees of technical complexity from the concept stage through detailed design and construction services. You will assist with business development, including strategy development, positioning, proposing, and negotiating contracts to grow our business. You will also grow and establish strong client relationships by communicating with clients on technical design topics and project schedule/budget/scope to develop long term strategy for continued market success. Join our team and help us lay the foundation for our growth in the irrigation market. In addition to leading project planning and design, you'll be called upon to use your inspirational leadership skills to provide mentoring and coaching to Water Resources Group staff. You'll also be responsible for promoting inclusion within the office and the Water Team, working to ensure that staff are given meaningful opportunities to progress their careers within Jacobs. Candidates with a wide variety of design and task leadership experience as well as business development and mentoring would be viewed favorably. Typical project activities may include performing hydraulic analysis, producing feasibility reports, providing detailed calculations, producing construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates, providing construction support, and delegating similar tasks to early career staff for irrigation storage and conveyance. Hydrology and hydraulic models used for typical projects include
HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS
1D/2D, HEC-ResSim, SRH-2D, and others required to meet Federal, State and local agency requirements. Here's what you'll need Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural, Civil, Environmental, or Irrigation Engineering or related field. 10+ years of experience working in irrigation subject areas, including hydraulic analysis, conveyance design, storage and impoundment, irrigation intakes and pumps, and irrigation distribution. Ability to work independently, manage design tasks, and mentor early-career engineers. PE license in
Idaho, Washington, or Oregon Ideally, You'll Also Have:
Master of Science Degree in Civil, Environmental, Water Resource, or Agricultural Engineering. Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using HEC-RAS 1D/2D, HEC-ResSim, HEC-HMS, and SRH-2D. Experience with CAD design software. Experience in consulting for irrigation districts and/or state/federal agencies. Field experience in a construction setting. Ability to build and maintain successful relationships with co-workers, clients, and regulatory agencies. Experience with business development and proposal writing. #LI-KS6

And certain roles may be eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, performance discretionary bonus, and stock. The base salary range for this position is $85,000.00 to $132,750.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
