Aug 26, 2026 Group Strategic Planning (GSP) adds value to AngloGold Ashanti (AGA) by providing strategic insights into individual assets, assessing major external investment opportunities, and improving decision-making across the portfolio. This pivotal role will be based in Denver, USA, Johannesburg, South Africa, or Perth, Australia. To achieve our objectives, GSP requires experienced and innovative mine planners to support mine planning, scheduling, options evaluation, and scenario development. These activities support Strategic Asset Reviews (SAR), technical Due Diligence (DD) exercises, and our annual Strategic Options Workshop (SOW) process. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), the Principal GSP Mine Planning will apply operational experience, strong mine planning and scheduling skills, and a sound understanding of mining economic evaluation and optimization techniques to each engagement. For this role, you must demonstrate broad experience in underground mine design, process modeling, and schedule optimization via the application of advanced mining tools. You will work in cross-functional teams and collaborate with other SMEs to deliver the scope and schedule for each GSP engagement or program of work. Teams adapt based on project scope and frequently include experts from outside the core GSP department. Key Responsibilities Lead the development and delivery of mine planning and scheduling for strategic engagements, ensuring robust scenario modeling and options evaluation to optimize asset value. Contribute to scoping GSP projects and selecting fit-for-purpose analytical and modeling methodologies aligned with project objectives and timelines. Collaborate closely with SMEs and stakeholders to establish credible inputs and assumptions, rigorously validate results, and provide insightful analysis to guide decision making. Communicate strategic insights and recommendations clearly to diverse audiences, including senior leadership, ensuring alignment with business goals. Champion continuous improvement in GSP processes, tools, and systems to enhance quality, efficiency, and impact of strategic planning activities. Support technical due diligence exercises and major studies, providing expert advice and mine planning expertise. Build and maintain professional networks within the mining industry to stay abreast of emerging technologies, best practices, and market trends.Safety and Cultural Commitment:

Contribute to budgeting and cost estimation processes for GSP engagements and the broader GSP portfolio. Influence investment decisions with value-adding, financially sound strategic mine planning outputs that aim to maximize net present value (NPV) and portfolio performance. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in mining related discipline; postgraduate qualifications in mining related discipline and/or business would be advantageous. Minimum 10 years' experience in mining. 5+ Years in an operating environment. 5+ Years in mine planning related roles. Previous involvement in major studies would be advantageous. Advanced knowledge of mine planning processes and systems, particularly in strategic planning. Familiar with the development, validation & analysis of production and/or business analysis models for mine operations/projects. Successful delivery of projects on time and within budget. A track record of finding practical solutions to technical problems. Sound understanding and practical experience of mining economic evaluation & optimization related techniques including: Economic definition of ore Cost estimation… operating & capital Cash flow modelling Capital investment appraisal techniques and theory Theory of Constraints Risk assessment Value optimisation Experience with LOM planning and options analysis Proficiency with the application of specialized mine planning software & the Microsoft Office suite of applications.Salary Range Denver, Colorado, USA:
