Job Description

As the

Principal:

Mineral Processing & Ore Body Knowledge based in Denver, you will serve as AngloGold Ashanti's global lead for Geology-to-Mill integration, providing technical leadership, excellence, and execution across our global operations and projects. You will own the strategic mineral processing and process optimization roadmap, lead Health of Plant governance, standardize data practices, and drive gold recovery optimization and business planning predictability. Additionally, you will lead tailings characterization for re-purposing opportunities and mentor site teams to sustain long-term technical capability.

Key Responsibilities Safety & Values:

Embody and reinforce AGA's "Safety First" culture; support incident and accident investigations across sites as required.

Strategy & Governance:

Own AGA's Health of Plant audit execution and global Ore Body Knowledge (OBK) strategy; establish global standards, QA/QC frameworks, and reporting cadences while serving as the technical lead for site Processing and Geometallurgist Champions.

Deployment & Value Delivery:

Drive the implementation of integrated geometallurgy and recovery models across all operations; translate audit and mineralogical data into measurable improvements for plant throughput, gold recovery, and business predictability; ensure global gold deportment aligns with world-class practices.

Technical Leadership & Partnerships:

Act as AGA's Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Mineral Processing and Geology-to-Mill integration; oversee the global geometallurgy discipline; lead strategic technical collaborations (e.g., internal capabilities) and manage site, vendor, OEM, and research relationships.

Capability Building:

Establish scalable training pathways, playbooks, and coaching; mentor site metallurgists, process engineers, and geologists to build sustained operational effectiveness and bridge the gap between mine planning and plant execution. Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geometallurgy, Metallurgical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

15+ years of relevant technical and operational experience in the mining industry.

Deep practical understanding of the complete mining value chain (geology, geotechnical, metallurgy, mining, engineering, tailings, and projects).Willingness and ability to undertake extensive international business travel.

Preferred Qualifications & Attributes:

Post-graduate degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Mineral Processing, Metallurgy, or Geometallurgy.

Proven track record in operational production, technical management, business improvement, and global change management.

Strategic vision with the ability to balance 3-5 year strategic priorities with competing operational needs.

High-impact leadership capabilities with demonstrated success in coaching, influencing, and directing high-performing technical teams.

Starting Salary Range:

$112,300 - $151,600 + Bonuses AngloGold Ashanti Limited
