Marketing and Operations Manager and other staff In-person, on-site (no remote option) Salary range: $75,000-85,000 dependent on qualifications and experience Background Bantam Cinema & Arts Center (BCAC) is the oldest continuously-operating movie house in CT and became a non-profit 501 ©(3) in September 2021. BCAC seeks to preserve and operate the cinema and enhance the cultural vitality of the Litchfield Hills through offering a diverse program of film, theater, music and visual arts that seeks to inspire, educate and engage its audience. Overall Responsibility The Executive Director is responsible for delivering BCAC's mission and for successfully achieving its strategic objectives in conjunction with the Board of Directors. Key responsibilities include leading and directing fundraising efforts, overseeing the management of internal operations and resources, implementing and evaluating a diverse and engaging cinematic programing and representing BCAC to its constituents. Responsibilities Strategic Planning
- develops and implements the organization's strategic objectives and annual business plans in conjunction with the Board. Fund Development/Grant Oversight
- together with the Board, develops and manages the fundraising, including sponsorship, donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship, grants, special events and advertising etc; actively participates in donor cultivation and solicitation. Fiscal Management
- together with the Board, develops and manages the financial strategies of the organization, develops an annual budget for approval by the Board, oversees the management of all funds in collaboration with the Board Treasurer, consistent with the organization's accounting system. Advocacy
- serves as the chief spokesperson for BCAC in the community; articulates and communicates the value of the arts in improving our quality of life, and promotes community support. Marketing and Communication
- oversees and supports the Marketing and Operations Manager in the development and implementation of effective marketing and communications plan, including a robust social media marketing, that positions BCAC as the cultural hub of Litchfield Hills. Staff Leadership and Management
- motivates and develops all staff; sets clear annual objectives for staff; hires, supervises and evaluates staff; attends all Board meetings; creates and engages an active volunteer community; coordinates work with the Board's committees, volunteers and partner organizations.
Oversees and supports the Marketing and Operations Manager in supervising box office staff. Program Development and Management
- develops, implements, supervises and evaluates programs, facilities and services that are consistent with the organization's mission and strategic objectives. Community Relations
- develops effective working relationships within the community (both within the arts community and elsewhere) to ensure that the arts are represented in the community-at-large.
Ensures staff is familiar with and adheres to crisis management protocols, TIPS Training, and any state mandated trainings Demonstrates a passion for film and a strong awareness of current and upcoming releases, key industry trends, and notable box office successes and collaborates with our Movie Booker to curate a compelling program targeted for BCAC audiences. Highly Valued Experience & Skills Experience Proven experience as an Executive Director or in a supervisory position Experience with developing strategic plans and setting business objectives Experience with developing and managing a budget Experience serving on and/or working with a board of directors Proven success in developing fundraising and networking techniques Experience of an arts/cultural based non-profit organization is desirable, cinema-specific programming a plus Skills Outstanding leadership abilities An analytical mind capable of "out-of-the-box" thinking to solve problems Ability to work well as part of a team and build consensus through collaboration Excellent communication (oral and written) and public speaking skills Excellent time management and organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy Proficient in technology with some familiarity with donor tracking software Enthusiastic, diplomatic, and trustworthy Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent Please e-mail a cover letter, resume, and 3 references to hiring@bantamcinema.org Only candidates who submit their materials to the e-mail above will be considered.
