Position Summary:
The Executive Director serves as the chief leader and administrator of Winona Volunteer Services. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director advances the organization's mission through visionary leadership, sound financial management, and effective operational oversight. This role requires strong strategic thinking, community engagement, and a deep commitment to fostering an inclusive, mission-driven organizational culture. Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership while overseeing day-to-day operations
- Partner with the Board of Directors to develop and implement the organization's vision, goals, and long-term strategy
- Develop, manage, and monitor organizational budgets to ensure financial stability
- Lead and execute fundraising strategies, including grant writing, donor cultivation, and community events
- Strengthen donor relationships and expand resource development efforts
- Recruit, supervise, and support staff and volunteers, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture
- Oversee marketing, public relations, and outreach efforts to grow organizational visibility
- Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, volunteers, and community partners
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as grant requirements
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, implementing improvements as needed
- Serve as a public representative and advocate for the organization's mission and services
- Identify and pursue opportunities for growth, innovation, and expanded community impact Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- 3-5 years of leadership experience in nonprofit or social services preferred
- Demonstrated success in fundraising, donor relations, and resource development
- Strong financial management and budgeting skills
- Strategic planning and organizational leadership experience
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and public speaking skills
- Proven ability to inspire, motivate, and manage staff and volunteers

Salary Range:
