EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Storehouse West, Inc. - Rio Rancho, New Mexico Part-Time | 25 Hours per Week | $40,800 Annual Salary Storehouse West is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and community-minded leader to serve as our next Executive Director. Storehouse West is a community-focused nonprofit organization serving residents of Sandoval County who are in need. We provide nourishing food, children's clothing, assistance with utility bills, and referrals to other community resources. Our Executive Director is the day-to-day leader of the organization and works closely with our Board of Directors, employees, volunteers, donors, and community partners to carry out the Storehouse West mission. The Position The Executive Director is the chief administrative, supervisory, and development officer of Storehouse West and reports directly to the Board of Directors. This is a 25-hour-per-week position, with the Executive Director expected to be present during all Storehouse West office and food-distribution hours. The position also requires attendance at monthly Board meetings and participation in community activities, including Chamber of Commerce events and meetings with current and prospective donors. Some of these responsibilities may occasionally take place outside regular Storehouse West office hours. This is very much a hands-on leadership position. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people and is just as comfortable talking with a donor or community leader as working alongside our employees and volunteers to solve an everyday operational problem. What You'll Do

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the organization and oversee our food, children's clothing, utility-assistance, and referral programs.
• Lead and support our paid staff and volunteers, including recruiting, training, supervision, performance management, and recognition.
• Work with the Board to develop organizational priorities, plans, policies, and budgets.
• Provide the Board with timely, accurate, and complete information needed to fulfill its governance and oversight responsibilities.
• Maintain strong professional relationships with Roadrunner Food Bank, food-rescue partners, donors, churches, businesses, government agencies, and other community organizations.
• Develop and carry out an annual fundraising plan in partnership with the Fund Development Committee.
• Seek grants, donations, sponsorships, and other financial and in-kind support.
• Develop and maintain relationships with major donors while building a sustainable base of individual donors.
• Oversee fundraising events, donor records, proposals, and required reports.
• Work with the Finance Committee and Board to maintain sound financial practices and operate within the Board-approved budget.
• Maintain organizational records and help ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
• Oversee Storehouse West facilities and equipment and maintain a safe, clean environment.
• Represent Storehouse West throughout the community and help increase awareness of our mission.
• Support our website, social media, newsletters, annual report, and other community communications.
• Attend Board meetings, provide regular Executive Director reports, and work cooperatively with the Board and its committees.

What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who genuinely cares about serving people and understands that the success of a community nonprofit depends on relationships - with clients, employees, volunteers, donors, community partners, and the Board.

Strong candidates will have:

• Experience in nonprofit leadership, management, community service, or a related field.
• Experience supervising employees and working with volunteers.
• Fundraising, donor-development, or grant-writing experience.
• Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to build and maintain productive community partnerships.
• An understanding of budgeting and basic nonprofit financial management.
• Computer proficiency, including word processing, email, internet/social media, and familiarity with financial-management software such as QuickBooks.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently while also being an effective member of a team.
• The ability to work effectively with and report to a nonprofit Board of Directors.

A bachelor's degree in business, public relations, nonprofit management, or a related field is preferred. Significant relevant leadership and management experience may be considered in place of a degree. Experience with food-assistance programs, food banks, nonprofit compliance, fundraising, grant development, or service on or with a nonprofit Board is also highly desirable.

Compensation and Schedule Salary:

$40,800 annually ($3,400 per month)

This position does not currently include employee benefits. The Executive Director is expected to be present during Storehouse West office/distribution hours and attend monthly Board meetings.
