The Director of Philanthropy is responsible for leading all fundraising, donor engagement, and philanthropic initiatives that support the mission of the senior living community. This executive-level position develops and implements comprehensive fundraising strategies to secure annual, major, planned, corporate, and foundation gifts while fostering meaningful relationships with residents, families, community partners, and philanthropic supporters. The Director of Philanthropy works closely with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, Foundation Board (if applicable), and senior leadership to increase charitable giving that enhances resident programs, capital improvements, employee education, and community outreach initiatives. Successful directors typically combine strategic fundraising leadership with active donor relationship management, stewardship, planned giving, and collaboration across leadership teams.
