Summary:
Golden Sands RC&D is a growing regional 501(c)3 nonprofit based out of Stevens Point, WI and serves thirteen counties in Central Wisconsin. The organization provides a variety of conservation services focused under four pillars: Clean Water, Healthy Forests, Abundant Wildlife, and Sustainable Agriculture. We work with federal, state, and county agencies, conservation non-profits, local businesses, and community members to protect our natural resources while growing the economy. Together we are making Central Wisconsin a better place to work and live with Conservation That Works! The organization is looking to fill the Executive Director (E.D.) position to lead our motivated team in carrying our conservation mission. The E.D.oversees all aspects of day-to-day operations and is responsible for balancing organizational, administrative, staff, project and budget management, fundraising, and public relations. Grant writing, fundraising, and contract development are also key aspects of the position which ensure that the organization is adequately funded. This position is overseen by the Golden Sands RC&D Council and is responsible for developing and completing the objectives and vision of the Council. There is currently a well-trained and supportive administrative team to assist with all aspects of the business. Well-documented operational procedures and policies are in place, and the organization is in good standing with all funders and partners. Pay rate:
$25- $32/hr . Commensurate with experience. Coupled with an annual bonus structure that is based on performance and organizational revenue. Position Location:
Position is based in the main office located in Stevens Point, WI. Opportunity exists for occasional remote work with some local travel and attendance at partner and council meetings is required. Work Schedule:
40 hours per week. Occasional weekend and evening work. Travel:
Regular in-state travel, approximately 5 days per month. Travel reimbursed at the Federal mileage rate. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Benefits:
$3.00 adjusted pay increase (in lieu of health care plan), Simple IRA with 2% organizational contribution and generous PTO schedule are provided following the completion of a 90-day probationary period. Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide leadership to cultivate a shared organizational vision among Council, staff, and partners Seek new opportunities and research new program areas Develop and maintain partnerships to leverage resources and expertise Develop fund-raising strategies Write grant and contract proposals Identify potential funders and donors Oversee all funding sources (grants, contracts, sales, etc.) Prepare and monitor organizational and project budgets Manage and oversee recruitment, onboarding, supervision, and staff evaluation Maintain an inclusive work environment which recruits and retains diverse talent Develop, update, and implement organizational policies Oversee management of records and documents to be in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations Develop and maintain partnerships with the community, natural resource agencies, funders, business agents, and program clients Oversee the development and implementation of communication strategies Inform government officials, agencies, organizations, and the general public about natural resource issues and how Golden Sands RC&D may be of assistance Support the Council in leading and managing the Council's committees Support council member development, coordination, and recruiting Oversee and directly manage all staff members, seasonal employees, and interns Required Qualifications:
A passion for issues related to the environment and natural resources Effective leadership skills to motivate others through a positive management style Educational focus in non-profit business management, public administration, or a related field; or a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience Supervisory experience Experience with applying for and securing grant funding and administering projects Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written Exceptional organizational skills. Possess the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple budgets and projects Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Knowledge of principles of effective nonprofit management and governance Critical thinking skills Strong interpersonal skills. Possess the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with staff, customers, and partners Strategic networking experience Experience w/ Google and Microsoft applications, especially Excel and Google Sheet formulas Must be able to clear a comprehensive background check Must have reliable transportation for required travel Preferred Qualifications:
Proven track record of successful grant writing Fundraising experience Prior non-profit organization management Knowledge of social media and using it for effective promotional use Knowledge of funding opportunities and critical Central Wisconsin partners Degree in business administration, accounting, management, operations management, public relations or related field or work equivalent in lieu of degree.
