Executive Director Buffalo Senior Center | Buffalo, WY | Full-Time About the Organization The Buffalo Senior Center is a cornerstone nonprofit serving older adults and the Johnson County community for decades. We deliver congregate and home-delivered meals, transportation, home health services, activities, caregiver support, and more through a team of dedicated staff and volunteers. With an annual operating budget of approximately $2 million, we are a complex, mission-critical organization that the community relies on every day. Position Overview The Executive Director is the top leadership position at the Buffalo Senior Center, responsible for the overall management, strategic direction, financial health, and community presence of the organization. This role oversees all staff and operations, manages a multi-source grant portfolio, leads fundraising and donor relations, and serves as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors. The ideal candidate is an experienced nonprofit leader who is equally comfortable with financial oversight, state and federal grant compliance, community engagement, and day-to-day organizational management. Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership across all departments and program areas
- Manage and maintain compliance for funding portfolio that includes state and federal grants, local special district funding, and private foundation grants
- Oversee all budgeting, financial reporting, and fund accounting in collaboration with the Finance Director
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly grant reimbursement submissions and state and federal compliance reporting
- Lead fundraising efforts including five annual fundraising events, donor cultivation, and grant development
- Supervise and support department heads and staff; oversee HR, payroll, and employee benefits administration
- Serve as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors, presenting monthly financial and operational updates
- Represent the organization publicly with funders, state and federal agencies, and community partners
- Oversee facilities management, marketing and communications, and organizational compliance Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
- Minimum 2 to 5 years of senior leadership or executive management experience, preferably in a nonprofit or public sector organization
- Demonstrated experience managing state and federal grants and funding compliance
- Strong financial management skills including budgeting and financial reporting
- Experience supervising staff across multiple departments
- Excellent communication skills, including experience presenting to boards, funders, and the public Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working with Title III of the Older Americans Act, FTA transportation funding, Medicaid Waiver billing, Wyoming Senior Services Board funding, Wyoming Home and Community-Based Services funding, or similar grant programs
