Job Description To monitor and control one or more computer systems through operation of the central console and on-line terminals. To operate auxiliary equipment directly associated with computer systems. To continuously observe the operation of the console panel, storage devices, printers, and action of the console printer to monitor the system and determine the point of equipment or program failure. To manipulate controls in accordance with standard procedures to rearrange the sequence of job steps to continue operations when problems or special circumstances arise. To confer with software systems engineers or applications programming personnel in the event errors require a change of instructions or sequence of operations. To maintain operating records such as machine performance and production reports. To assist in operations scheduling. To assume responsibilities of supervisor in their absence. Qualifications High School diploma or GED and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.
