GENERAL DISCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE
This role leads all facets of sales forecasting for Value Added products by driving to and maintaining consensus forecasts in Logility for the short-term daily demand sensing (DS) and long-term weekly demand planning (DP). This role also assists the Demand Planning Manager and VP of Sales Operations with the various areas that support sales and the internal departments that interact with sales.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS / DUTIES OF THE POSITION
  • Forecast and maintain short-term daily DS and long-term weekly DP demand plans of assigned location(s) for Value Added products to drive production and long-term planning.
  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers and evaluate/utilize statistical forecasting models within Logility.
  • Develop and utilize analytical models to improve forecasts incorporating measures such as promotional performance and market data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Customer Service, VMI, Sales, Operations, Innovation and Finance to align on assumptions, risks and opportunities.
  • Develop and validate new item forecasts while aligning exit strategies for discontinuing items.
  • Contribute to the development of volume and revenue budgets.
  • Measure and review Key Performance Indicators including Forecast Error %, Finished Good Disposals, Budget attainment and Case Fill %.
  • Reduce Forecast Error % and achieve accuracy targets at the item and item/location levels.
  • Other duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
  • 1-3 years forecasting experience within a sales, operational, customer service or related function.
  • Strong understanding of forecast management principles including statistical modeling.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems. Logility experience a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and influence across and upwards.
  • Advanced user in Excel. Power BI experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of the produce industry a plus.
  • Self-starter, intellectually curious and creative problem solver.
  • Demonstrated ability to be an effective team player and build collaborative relationships.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk or hear.
  • The employee must occasionally lift (including overhead) and/or up to 25 lbs.
WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to work beyond regular business hours and weekends based on needs.
  • Ability to travel - up to 25% required.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Marketing, Statistics or other related field or a minimum of 1-3 years working experience preferred.
  • APICS (CPIM, CSCP) or IBF (CPF, ACPF) Certification(s) a plus.
