Job Description Mission Planning Engineer Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Knowledge of operational aircrew mission planning and software process, including extensive knowledge of how aircrew use automated mission planning and software tools to accomplish their mission. Extensive experience with the Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) is desired. Knowledge of CAF operational mission planning with USAF platforms Prepare and review technical documents defining, specifying, and recommending system and subsystem characteristics. Perform program reviews to evaluate alternative plans, systems engineering programs, and test results, ensuring subsystem and system performance meets program specifications. Prepare management reports and conduct technical presentations for planning, implementation, and corrective actions using sound engineering principles. Develop validation criteria and procedures for systems and subsystems. Analysis & Risk Management Analyze and evaluate results of major engineering weapon systems and provide operations oversight. Support program and project risk management activities in compliance with Air Force Systems Engineering Assessment Model (AF SEAM) processes. Mission planning experience in developmental or operational testing environments is helpful. Or prior mission planning experience in Operational Support Squadrons. Knowledge of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of mission planning systems used for conducting mission and flight operations, such as for fighter, bomber, guided weapons, tactical training, special operations, exercise, contingency, or similar operations. Position is within an weapons Acquisition Program Office, so applicant will be applying military operational experience and scientific analysis in developing methodologies for evaluating the effectiveness and suitability of newly developed/updated mission planning system. Other Duties and Responsibilities may be assigned: Assist and advise with the DoD planning, programming, and budgeting process; USAF weapons acquisition process; cost estimating and analysis of missiles, air delivered munitions, electronic systems, delivery vehicles, targets, and range systems; to support Government program managers and financial managers. Prepare briefings. Develop and manage program schedules and program plans. Develop and manage program courses of action for streamlined operations and processes. Support and execute risk management processes. Prepare and coordinate responses to requests for information from external organizations. Perform economic, budget, and financial analyses to include obligations and expenditure forecasting. Develop funds management, funding status, automated models, and control techniques. Prepare decision support information. Work with industry on contract with the USAF.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree and twenty-five (25) years of professional experience OR master's degree and fifteen (15) years of professional experience OR PhD and five (5) years of experience Undergraduate engineering degree from an ABET-accredited college
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time on-site position requiring 40 hours per week and offers a flexible work schedule Monday through Friday during core business hours.

Proof of U.S. Citizenship is a requirement for this position. Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance by date of hire.
