Job Description
The Bank Operations Officer is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of the bank to ensure efficient, effective, consistent and compliant service. This role involves coordinating various banking activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and implementing / administering board approved policies and procedures. The Bank Operations Officer supports, participates and helps manage the recruitment, acquisition, onboarding, lift / growth and keep / retention of profitable Core Deposit Relationships (households, businesses, organizations). This role includes demonstrated proficiency and training regarding the opening and maintenance of various consumer and commercial deposit accounts with a strong knowledge of banking software, compliance, business ethics, best practices and focused on accuracy, consistency and efficiency. The Bank Operations Officer plays a mission critical role in promoting and protecting the Bank's Brand, Mission, Vision & Values while maintaining integrity, service excellence and a favorable omni channel customer experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary focus is to assist with the compliant recruitment, acquisition, onboarding, lift / growth and keep / retention of Core Demand Deposit relationships (Checking & Savings DDA) and households for the Bank's long-term growth and profitability. Demonstrates, promotes and maintains a professional, positive and mutually respectful working environment / behavior. Demonstrates knowledgeable and proficient understanding of compliant Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) / Customer Due Diligence (CDD), BSA / AML / CIP / KYC monitoring and procedures. Manages sensitive information with continuous discretion and care. Assures compliance, privacy and confidentiality with all functions, specifically any non-public, personal or proprietary information. Oversees daily banking operations, including transaction processing and settlement, account management, and customer service. Ensures all transactions are processed accurately and efficiently. Implements and monitors compliance with bank policies and federal regulations to mitigate risks. Ensures all banking activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Assists with the Management and Analysis of the bank's cash flow, including: liquidity, forecasting, asset liability strategy & balance, interest rate risk, current and projected changes to the balance sheet and net income. Coordinates with the IT department to maintain and update unique banking software systems and applications. Collaborates with IT to ensure seamless integration and maximized utility of the Core Banking Platform & Fintechs. Manages customer inquiries and resolves issues related to account management and transaction discrepancies. Addresses customer inquiries and resolves issues promptly and effectively. Assists in the development and implementation of new products, solutions and services. Explains products to current and prospective customers. Prepares and analyzes operational reports to track performance and identify areas for continuous improvement. Assists with the preparation of regulatory reporting documents. Researches and implements new/revised accounting standards issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) as they relate to banking. Oversees the operations of bank branches, ensuring consistency in service delivery and efficiency. Manages relationships with key external vendors and service providers to ensure continuity, quality, fair dealing, accountability and cost-effectiveness. Collaborates with Enterprise Risk Management [ERM] to facilitate internal and external audits while ensuring compliance with policies and best practices. Develops and maintains disaster recovery preparedness and business continuity plans to ensure the bank's operations will continue in the event of a disruption. Leads and participates in special projects aimed at improving brand awareness, core deposit and loan growth, operational efficiency and customer service. Represents the bank in community events and activities to enhance the bank's brand presence and reputation in the community. All other duties as assigned. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Organizational Leadership, or a related field. Experience in banking operations or a similar role. Strong understanding of banking regulations, policies, procedures & compliance. Proficiency in mathematics, banking software and Microsoft Office Suite.
