Operations Cost Analyst Details:
Direct Hire position $80,000.00 to $105,000.00 /annually Salaried Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs including materials, labor, and overhead to ensure accuracy and identify cost-saving opportunities Maintain and update standard costing models; perform detailed variance analysis (actual vs. standard)Analyze inventory valuation and cost of goods sold (COGS) to support accurate financial reporting Support capital expenditure analysis, including tracking and validating project savings post-implementation Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly KPI reporting to drive data-informed decision making Assist in preparation and analysis of plant-level profit and loss (P&L) statements Ensure compliance with GAAP and support corporate financial reporting requirements Track and reconcile raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods inventory; investigate discrepancies Oversee and participate in physical inventory counts and cycle counts Develop overhead spending budgets and forecasts; monitor actuals vs. budget Provide financial insights and recommendations to improve operational efficiency and margins Ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies, and financial procedures Support internal and external audits and identify financial risks with mitigation strategies Partner cross-functionally with plant leadership to drive accountability, improve processes, and enhance financial visibility Regularly walk the production floor to understand operations and support continuous improvement initiatives
Operations Cost Analyst Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 2-5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and financial analysis Experience with ERP systems; exposure to RedZone and Power BI is a plus Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard business applicationsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills High attention to detail and accuracy Effective communication and collaboration skills across departments Understanding of manufacturing processes and cost drivers Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma concepts preferred Ability to work on-site in a plant environment and regularly engage with production operations We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and celebrate diversity at all levels of our organization.
