Exempt About Us Valley of Hope Shelter and Recovery is a mission-driven organization providing residential and recovery-focused services across multiple programs, including Daybreak, Women's View, and Pegasus House. We are committed to delivering trauma-informed, person-centered care that supports individuals on their path to recovery and stability. Position Summary The Chief Clinical Officer (CCOO) serves as the senior clinical leader for Valley of Hope Shelter and Recovery. This role oversees all clinical services across programs and ensures the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented care. While overseeing clinical services across all programs, the CCOO also serves as the lead clinician for Daybreak Shelter, providing direct clinical oversight and support within that program. The CCOO provides clinical leadership, supervision, and strategic direction while partnering closely with program leadership to strengthen clinical practices, support staff development, and improve resident outcomes. This position plays a key role in aligning clinical services with the organization's mission, values, and standards of care. Key Responsibilities Clinical Leadership and Oversight Provide leadership and direction for all clinical services across programs Supervise and support clinicians and program leadership Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, and high-quality care Provide guidance on complex cases, risk management, and clinical decision-making Program Development and Clinical Standards Develop and maintain clinical policies, protocols, and evidence-based practices Ensure consistency in treatment planning, documentation, and service delivery Strengthen trauma-informed and recovery-oriented practices Integrate clinical services within residential program operations Quality Assurance and Compliance Monitor clinical performance and outcomes Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and Massachusetts regulatory requirements Lead clinical audits, reviews, and corrective action planning Maintain readiness for inspections and regulatory reviews Operational Collaboration Partner with Program Directors on daily clinical operations Provide guidance on staffing models and clinical coverage Support incident review, documentation standards, and follow-up actions Serve as a clinical resource during critical or escalated situations Strategic Leadership Participate in executive-level planning and organizational strategy Identify opportunities to enhance clinical programming and expand services Support organizational growth while maintaining quality and compliance Contribute to a strong, mission-aligned clinical culture Qualifications LICSW required in Massachusetts Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field required 7-10 years of clinical experience, including leadership responsibility Experience in residential treatment, behavioral health, or recovery-based settings preferred Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care, substance use treatment, and recovery models Experience with supervision, program development, and clinical oversight Strong understanding of Massachusetts regulatory and compliance requirements Skills and Competencies Strong clinical judgment and decision-making Ability to lead, coach, and develop clinical teams Excellent communication and collaboration skills Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on leadership Commitment to ethical practice and high standards of care
