Job Description

The Business Excellence Summer Intern will support strategic improvement initiatives focused on operational performance, cost reduction, and cash flow improvement for Magnera. This role will partner directly with the Business Excellence Director to assist in DMAIC projects, data analysis, process mapping, and implementation of BEx culture initiatives and integrations. The internship provides hands-on exposure to Lean Six Sigma methodologies, operational analytics, and cross-functional leadership in manufacturing environments. Responsibilities Support active DMAIC projects through data collection, analysis, and documentation Assist in developing project charters, problem statements, and tollgate materials Conduct time studies and process observations on production lines Integrate performance dashboards (safety, quality, downtime, OEE, run rates) Analyze data related to throughput, waste, inventory, and cost drivers Assist in implementation of Global Cost Reduction Process Alignment Assist in Value Stream Mapping (VSM) activities and future-state design sessions Document standard work and help improve process documentation Support Kaizen events and improvement workshops Track action items and follow-ups to ensure project execution discipline Assist in identifying opportunities to improve EBITDA and working capital performance Help prepare executive-ready summaries and presentations Qualifications Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in: Industrial Engineering Mechanical Engineering Business (Operations, Supply Chain, Finance) Data Analytics Or related field Rising sophomore, junior, or senior preferred Minimum GPA of 3.0
