In this role, you'll leverage analytics, reporting tools, and operational insights to support electric utility functions, improve business processes and assist in the execution of our enterprise data strategy. You'll collaborate with various teams across the organization to transform data into meaningful recommendations that strengthen operational efficiency, reliability, and innovation in a rapidly evolving energy industry.
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for partnering with business areas to understand internal business processes, identify improvement opportunities, and translate business needs into practical reporting, dashboard, data model, and analytical solutions. This position supports a variety of projects across the organization by reviewing how work is performed, how information flows between systems and teams, and where data can help improve decisions, service, accuracy, and efficiency. The role also supports load research activities, including sample design and statistical analysis of customer usage for planning and business decisions. This position serves as a direct interface between business stakeholders and technology teams, with emphasis on business process analysis, process mapping, problem definition, data cleaning and analysis, and business intelligence tool development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Meets with departments and business units across the electric utility to understand business processes, document requirements, and identify opportunities for improved reporting, analysis, workflow, and decision support. Develops process maps, problem statements, business requirements, and solution concepts that clearly describe current processes, handoffs, pain points, root causes, and desired future improvements. Manages load research functions, including maintaining load research data, developing and reviewing stratified sample designs, performing statistical analysis of customer usage, and communicating results for planning, ratemaking, and business decision-making purposes. Applies structured problem-solving, continuous improvement, and practical operations analysis methods, including Lean Six Sigma and DMAIC concepts when appropriate. Designs, builds, tests, maintains, and enhances dashboards, reports, data models, and analytical tools using Power BI, Excel, Microsoft Fabric, ERP data, and other approved business intelligence platforms. Prepares and presents findings, dashboards, recommendations, and user documentation to leadership, subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams in a clear and actionable manner. Maintains documentation of report logic, data definitions, assumptions, business rules, process maps, and solution requirements to support transparency, repeatability, and ongoing maintenance. Keeps current on business intelligence tools, utility business processes, data visualization practices, and process improvement methods to recommend practical improvements to existing tools and processes.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Proficient use of Power BI, Excel, Microsoft Fabric, and enterprise data sources. Strong understanding of relational database concepts, data relationships, data quality, and reporting logic; SQL experience preferred. Ability to translate business and operational needs into dashboards, data models, requirements, process maps, performance measures, and practical analytical tools. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, documentation, data visualization, and business process analysis skills. Strong understanding of statistical concepts and analytical methods, including sample design, stratified sampling, variance, confidence intervals, energy usage analysis, and appropriate interpretation of results. Working knowledge of practical operations analysis concepts such as work volume, process flow, handoffs, constraints, cycle time, prioritization, resource needs, and scenario comparison preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work directly with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, leadership, and technical partners. Experience with Lean Six Sigma, DMAIC, process mapping, root cause analysis, or continuous improvement methods preferred. Experience with R or Python a plus. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Operations Management, Operations Research, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or related field, and Two years of progressively responsible experience in business intelligence, data analysis, business analysis, statistical analysis, operations analysis, process improvement, or related area of assignment, or An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
