Job Description:
Responsible for guiding the CI Technicians assessing, implementing, and sustaining continuous improvement efforts using Lean/6-sigma manufacturing and project management principles in support of meeting financial, production and leadership goals. These efforts include Kaizen improvements, Standard Work and Process development, 6S, Visual Workplace development, Problem Solving, Lean Training, and Project Management. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Including but not limited to:
  • Work in a Team environment cooperating, interacting, and communicating work progress.
  • Provide Daily Team Leadership, Morning Huddles, Manage the tasks and SW workflow progression
  • Develop the CI Capability by developing the CI Specialist knowledge and experience.
  • Provide a weekly CI review, covering tasks and their progress.
  • Develop and execute lean initiatives, including standard work, process engineering, TWI, 6S, visual workplace, PDCA and other lean tools and principles.
  • Develop processes toward continuously improving operational flows, efficiencies, and work efforts.
  • Manage and Facilitate process improvement efforts through Kaizen, Problem Solving and Program Management activities toward improving Team Member Quality of Life, and Customer's Product Quality.
  • Develop and maintain process flow diagrams and time observations for baseline current state understanding.
  • Train and coach team members in the use of standard work, 6S, TWI, visual workplace, improvement tools and PDCA problem solving.
  • Acts as change agent to instill Lean culture throughout the plant.
  • Manage events, projects and tasks related to: Kaizen events, costs reduction efforts, and new product and process introductions.
  • Design and build work and process solutions in support of process improvement efforts.
Work Environment:
  • Manufacturing environment, with exposure to wood dusts and cabinet making related materials.
  • Exposure to hot/cold elements due to non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Wearing of Personal Protection Equipment is required.
  • Work is primarily day shift Monday thru Thursday
  • Overtime follows the plant schedule
Qualifications Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and grasping.
  • Frequently walking and standing in manufacturing facility.
  • Frequently using powered and manual equipment to move, build or repair solutions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
