Job Description
Securities Lending Specialist This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on Vanguard's Global Securities Lending Program by owning critical day-to-day operations, resolving complex issues, and driving process improvements that mitigate risk and deliver value. You'll partner closely with trading, investment, and global operations teams, serving as a key escalation point and thought partner. The role includes rotational exposure to the Equity Trading Floor, providing direct interaction with front-office partners and a pathway to deepen operational knowledge and investment insight.
Responsibilities:
- Owns execution of day-to-day deliverables.
- Identifies and resolves complex operational issues; coaches less experienced team members.
- Acts as a regional point of escalation for complex operational issues.
- Provides regional input to global process owners for effective global solutions.
- Effectively liaises with EIG and other Global Investment Data & Operations teams to deliver value-add operational insights.
- Supports management with reviewing daily, weekly, and monthly deliverables.
- Enhances processes for fund initiatives, reporting requirements, regulatory changes, and daily operations.
- Creates value in the Global Securities Lending Program through process improvement and stakeholder relationship management.
- Monitors and oversees resolution of operational issues related to securities lending.
- Acts as a liaison with management and internal/external business partners; resolves elevated stakeholder issues.
- Collaborates with internal partners to define scope and requirements for program initiatives; recommends solutions and supports implementation.
- Documents and updates all operational procedures; ensure compliance with control standards and policies.
- Maintains risk mitigation controls, contingency plans, and end-user computing tools; supports new product launches.
- Creates impact analysis, recommend solutions, and support project implementation.
- Builds strong working relationships as a thought partner to resolve complex operational issues.
- Proactively resolves elevated issues relating to stakeholder relationships.
- Develops others by providing coaching and guidance to less tenured crew.
- Participates in projects and other assigned duties.
- Builds on investment acumen to enhance output.
- Maintains conceptual knowledge of all operational rotations and ability to complete each rotation in its entirety.
- In this role, you will have the opportunity to sit and interact with stakeholders on Vanguard's Equity Trading Floor.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years' related work experience.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Accounting or Finance degree preferred.
- Investment operations experience desired
- CFA or interest in obtaining
- Python- demonstrated interest or ability to build code.
