Job Description:
Lean Practitioner/Continuous Improvement Specialist Everett, WA Onsite Job Summary We are seeking Temporary 5S Training Specialists to deliver high-frequency, large-group training sessions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role focuses on educating and engaging shop-floor teams in 5S, visual management, and workplace organization practices , while coordinating closely with production to minimize operational disruption. The ideal candidate is a confident facilitator with strong manufacturing experience, a passion for continuous improvement, and the ability to work effectively across shifts, locations, and unionized teams. Key Responsibilities Deliver engaging 5S Overview Training in classroom-style sessions to 20+ participants per class Conduct frequent training sessions across multiple manufacturing sites within the Puget Sound area Coordinate training schedules with production leadership to minimize impact on operations Collaborate with Program Supervisors and Continuous Improvement teams to ensure training aligns with site goals, safety standards, and compliance requirements Adapt training delivery to varied experience levels and shift schedules Maintain training records, materials, attendance, and follow-up action plans Support sustainment activities and reinforce standardized 5S behaviors on the shop floor
Required Skills & Competencies Self-Starter:
Operates independently with minimal supervision; proactively drives 5S momentum across shifts and locations
Presentation Excellence:
Delivers clear, engaging, visually supported training to large, diverse audiences; adapts pacing and content for maximum retention
Organizational Strength:
Effectively manages multiple schedules, training materials, and participant records while coordinating around production needs
Reliability & Punctuality:
Consistently arrives on time and starts sessions promptly to maintain credibility and respect production schedules
Approachable & Collaborative:
Builds trust with operators, supervisors, and unionized teams; encourages participation and provides practical coaching
Tenacious & Results-Oriented:
Actively follows up on sustainment efforts, addresses resistance constructively, and drives continuous improvement until standards are embedded Qualifications & Background 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, continuous improvement, or operational excellence roles Direct experience facilitating large-group training sessions in a production environment Hands-on application of 5S and Lean principles
Preferred:
Lean, Kaizen, or 5S facilitation certification Prior experience working with unionized teams Strong safety awareness in industrial environments
Education:
Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of related experience, or Master's degree with 4+ years of related experience, or Equivalent combination of education and significant practical experience (e.g., 10+ years in manufacturing/CI roles)
