Burks & Associates Birmingham, AL Job Details 1 day ago Qualifications Change management Managing budgets in a finance role Profit & Loss statement Profit and loss analysis Organizational budget management Senior leadership Full Job Description Director of Operations - Production and Mining Senior leadership role responsible for overseeing multi-site U.S. plant, and mining operations, ensuring strong performance across safety, production, cost control, quality, compliance, and financial results in a 24/7 operating environment. This role leads site teams, drives operational excellence, and partners cross-functionally to execute business strategy and continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities Lead operations across multiple plants, and mining/quarry sites Ensure achievement of KPIs including production, cost, quality, delivery, and working capital Drive a strong safety culture and ensure regulatory and environmental compliance Own operating budgets, cost control, and support P&L performance Oversee workforce planning, staffing, and succession development Partner with Sales, Logistics, Engineering, and corporate teams to align execution Lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, efficiency, standardization) Develop, coach, and mentor site leadership teams and direct reports Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or related technical field 7+ years of leadership in plant operations, mining, or heavy manufacturing Experience managing 24/7 industrial or multi-site operations Strong financial acumen with P&L and budget responsibility Background in cement, lime, quarry, mining, or similar heavy industry preferred Strong leadership, communication, and change management skills Ability to work in industrial environments and travel up to 40%
