Director of Field Survey OperationsPURPOSE OF POSITION /SUMMARY
This position will manage the field operations of the survey division of B&R Engineering. Primary job functions include planning and directing project survey tasks; delegating management of the survey staff to the crew chief(s). Will coordinate field survey findings with the engineering department; develop criteria for survey methods and procedures; direct or conduct surveys to establish legal boundaries for properties, based on legal deeds and titles, routes, construction layouts, as builts/as surveyed locations. Communicates regularly with engineering manager as well as field construction staff regarding projects, issues, troubleshooting. Prepare (and supervise) and maintain sketches, maps, reports and legal descriptions of surveys to describe, certify and assume liability for work performed. Performs other job duties as assigned.PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Staking Calculations- Check slopes, verify plans to field conditions. Scheduling of workforce
- Schedule crews to complete jobs. Follow up with crews for progress of days work. Final Plats
- Review final plat numbers and seal documents. Legal Descriptions
- Compose legal descriptions in conjunction with B&R, verify no conflicts exist, check line work. Topography Resolution
- Verify descriptions are correct, review final topography inputs. As Builts
- Review field data, produce as-builts for grading, sewer, water, paving, and concrete. Pre-Construction Meeting
- Meet with onsite field staff, determine off-sets.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/COMPUTER/TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
8+ Years in Surveying, construction staking, boundary experience, topography experience. Registered Land Surveyor (RLS certification required) Completed Land Surveyor in Training Exam Part 107 Drone Pilot AutoCad and Drone Computation Software Required Microsoft Word, Excel, PDF's.EEO:
