WATER TRUCK DIRECTOR AT DESERT SERVICES
Job Summary Desert Services is seeking an experienced Water Truck Director to lead and manage all water truck operations in support of construction projects and public and private roadways. This senior leadership role is responsible for ensuring effective dust control, regulatory compliance, equipment readiness, crew performance, and safe operations across multiple job sites. The Water Truck Director works closely with project managers, operations leadership, and field personnel to ensure water delivery services meet project requirements, safety standards, and company expectations. This position is ideal for a proactive leader with deep knowledge of water truck operations and construction site support. Key Responsibilities Direct and oversee all water truck operations across multiple construction sites and projects Plan, schedule, and coordinate water truck deployment to meet project and dust control needs Ensure compliance with dust control plans, SWPPP requirements, and applicable environmental regulations Supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate water truck operators and field personnel Ensure safe operation of equipment in active construction zones and on public roadways Oversee pre-trip and post-trip inspections, equipment readiness, and maintenance coordination Monitor fuel usage, water consumption, and overall operational efficiency Enforce company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and traffic control standards Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, inspectors, and clients regarding service needs Address performance issues, incidents, or safety concerns promptly and professionally Maintain accurate operational records, daily logs, and reporting Assist with budgeting, resource planning, and continuous improvement initiatives Complete additional duties and ad hoc projects assigned Qualifications Strong leadership and supervisory skills In-depth knowledge of water truck operations, dust control practices, and construction support Solid understanding of roadway safety standards and traffic control procedures Proven ability to manage multiple crews, schedules, and job sites simultaneously Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Mechanical aptitude related to heavy equipment operation and maintenance Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions in dynamic environments Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required; additional technical or management training preferred Valid driver's license required Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred Minimum of 5 years of experience in water truck operations, construction support, or a related field Prior supervisory or management experience strongly preferred Experience working on active construction sites and roadways required Physical Requirements Ability to work outdoors in extreme heat, dust, noise, and varying weather conditions Ability to walk, stand, climb, bend, and perform equipment and site inspections Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed Ability to work extended hours, including early mornings, nights, and weekends based on project demands Ability to sit and work in an office environment for extended periods of time Why Join Desert Services?
