This role provides advanced leadership beyond the Crew Supervisor level, including spike planning, coordination, and accountability, and serves as the primary on-site authority during spike operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Spike Leadership & Oversight Lead and supervise Corpsmembers, Drivers, and Crew Leads during extended spike assignments Serve as the on-site authority for spike operations, safety, and conduct Conduct daily briefings, safety checks, and performance expectations Monitor crew morale, work quality, and endurance throughout the spike Work closely with sponsors on assigned projects. Planning & Logistics Plan, organize, and execute spike logistics, including transportation, food, water, tools, gear, and camp setup Ensure safe food handling, water management, and camp operations Safeguard equipment, tools, and vehicles during off-site assignments Safety, Risk & Compliance Enforce FIELD/KSACC
policies, Corpsmember code of conduct, and sponsor/state park rules Respond to emergencies and high-stress situations appropriately Complete required pre-spike and post-spike administrative tasks Maintain accurate documentation, including daily logs, production logs, fleet logs, timesheets, and incident reports Coaching & Quality Control Train and coach Corpsmembers and Drivers and mentor Crew Leads in advanced field skills and endurance-based work Provide immediate feedback and corrective action as needed Ensure high-quality execution of conservation projects during spikes Supervisory Scope Directly supervises Corpsmembers, Drivers, and Crew Leads during spike assignments (up to 14) Responsible for safety, logistics, quality, and discipline during spikes Does not supervise Crew Supervisors or set department-wide policy Decision-Making Authority Operational authority during spike assignments Makes real-time decisions related to safety, logistics, and crew management Escalates serious incidents or personnel matters to management Duties:

High School Diploma is required Associates Degree in either Urban Forestry, Environmental Conservation, Community Development or preferred EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Minimum one (1) year experience in a supervisory position Minimum of one to two (1-2) years conservation corps or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
Valid California Driver License Must have approval from Insurance Carrier to operate company vehicle Must have a spot free driving record for at least 2 years Must undergo and pass a physical examination and drug test. CERTIFICATIONS
First Aid/CPR certificate, preferred, but not required Food Handler'certificate TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to travel as needed/required Traveling up to 70% required Must be able and willing to participate in spikes where you may camp outdoors or lodge in primitive conditions for periods of time, up to eight (8) days at a time LANGUAGE SKILLS

Driving a KSACC vehicle to conduct work; driving a vehicle during adverse weather conditions; working around machinery having moving parts and vehicles. Regular exposure to fumes (including fumes from vehicle and equipment operation), dust, gasses, and odors. Exposure to cleaning agents, chemicals, skin irritants, and electric shock. Must be able to enter bodies of water such as lakes, creeks, channels, rivers, etc. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
