Consumer Products & Direct-to-Consumer Operations manages the Los Angeles strategy, development, and execution of consumer product initiatives with a primary focus on toys and collectibles. This role is involved with the end-to-end toy creation process, manages direct-to-consumer (DTC) e-commerce businesses, manages convention operations, and serves as a project manager coordinating internal teams, licensors, designers, factories, and vendors. The position is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, managing budgets and schedules, and maintaining strong cross-functional and external relationships.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct-to-Consumer Business — Growth & Management Manage and grow direct-to-consumer e-commerce websites, driving revenue, customer engagement, and brand visibility Manage product launches, online merchandising, promotions, and fulfillment strategies Analyze sales performance, customer data, and market trends to inform business decisions Manage budgets, forecasts, and operational schedules for DTC initiatives Consumer Products Project Management (Internal) Act as Project Manager for internal consumer products needs, ensuring projects stay on schedule and within budget Coordinate internal approvals across departments including legal, finance, marketing, and leadership Manage licensor relationships, approvals, and ongoing communication Partner with marketing and social media teams to align product development, launch timing, and promotional strategies Toy Creation & Production Process Manage the full toy and collectible creation lifecycle from concept through final production Collaborate closely with designers, art department, and external creative partners Manage relationships with manufacturers, including timelines, quality control, and cost management Coordinate internal and external approvals at all stages of development Manage shipping, warehousing, and logistics to ensure timely delivery and inventory readiness Conventions & Live Events (Direct-to-Consumer) Manage planning and execution of direct-to-consumer convention presence, including San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) and New York Comic Con (NYCC) Manage convention budgets, schedules, booth planning, exclusive product offerings, and staffing Coordinate logistics for product shipments, displays, and on-site operations Work with marketing and social teams to maximize convention visibility and fan engagement
QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of proven experience in consumer products, toys, collectibles, or licensing-based businesses Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously Experience working with designers, manufacturers, licensors, and cross-functional internal teams Knowledge of direct-to-consumer e-commerce operations and live event retail Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and vendor relationships effectively Excellent customer service skills. Strong presentation and direct negotiation skills. Excellent organization skills. An ability to remain calm under pressure. Willing to travel and work flexibly.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Experience in the entertainment, pop culture, or toy industry Familiarity with convention-based sales and exclusive product strategies Experience scaling direct-to-consumer businesses
SALARY RANGE
$100,000 - $120,000 per year
WORK LOCATION
This is an on-site position. Candidates must be able to work from our Burbank office during scheduled work hours (9 AM - 7 PM)
