JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a driven and experienced Regional Operations Manager to lead NeXgen Facilities Group's janitorial services and facilities management operations across a portfolio of strategic accounts within a designated geographic region. This is a hands-on leadership role at the heart of our business — responsible for the quality, consistency, and profitability of janitorial programs, day porter services, and snack support porter operations serving commercial, corporate, and institutional clients. You will directly oversee a team of 30 to 80 employees including janitorial supervisors, lead cleaners, day porters, and snack support porters — managing accounts ranging from standard business hours to 24/7 facilities. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of janitorial operations and facilities services, strong people leadership skills, and the agility to execute quickly on leadership direction while adapting to the evolving needs of a fast-paced, client-facing environment. You are equally comfortable in a boardroom and on a job site, and you build trust with everyone from frontline porters to senior client contacts.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Janitorial & Day Porter Operations Oversee all janitorial service programs across assigned accounts, ensuring cleaning standards, frequencies, and scope of work are consistently met or exceeded Manage day porter programs at corporate campuses, commercial buildings, and high-traffic facilities — overseeing staffing, scheduling, appearance standards, and client satisfaction Supervise snack support porter operations including pantry restocking, kitchen and breakroom upkeep, supply replenishment, and client-facing service standards Conduct regular quality control inspections across accounts to assess cleanliness, safety, and compliance with service agreements Respond quickly to client requests, service deficiencies, and escalations — implementing corrective action and following up to ensure resolution Ensure all janitorial and porter staff are properly trained on cleaning procedures, chemical handling, OSHA standards, and client-specific protocols Team Leadership & Workforce Management Lead, schedule, and manage a diverse team of 30-80 employees including janitorial supervisors, day porters, snack support porters, and utility technicians Manage staffing coverage across all accounts, including 24/7 facilities, ensuring no gaps in service due to absences, turnover, or schedule changes Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new hires with an emphasis on service quality, professionalism, and NeXgen standards Conduct performance reviews, deliver coaching and feedback, and implement corrective action or disciplinary procedures when necessary Build a team culture rooted in pride of work, reliability, client respect, and accountability Maintain clear communication with supervisors and crew leads to ensure daily operations run smoothly across all sites Account Management & Client Relations Serve as the primary operational point of contact for a portfolio of strategic janitorial and facilities accounts organized by geography Build strong, trust-based relationships with client facilities managers, property managers, and operations contacts Conduct regular account reviews and walkthroughs to proactively identify issues, gather feedback, and reinforce service quality Support account retention and growth by consistently delivering on commitments and identifying opportunities to expand services Manage accounts requiring 24/7 janitorial coverage, coordinating shift supervisors and crew scheduling to maintain around-the-clock service Project & Special Services Coordination Coordinate and oversee special project work including post-construction cleans, deep cleans, floor care (stripping, waxing, buffing), carpet cleaning, and pressure washing Manage project scoping, staffing, equipment, and timelines to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery Identify upsell opportunities for project work and specialty services within existing accounts Implement process improvements to increase crew efficiency, reduce rework, and improve overall service consistency Supply, Equipment & Materials Management Oversee procurement and distribution of janitorial supplies, cleaning chemicals, paper products, day porter consumables, and snack support pantry inventory Ensure each account is properly stocked with the correct products and equipment per their service agreement and usage patterns Monitor supply usage, control costs, and reduce waste through effective inventory management practices Coordinate equipment maintenance, repair, and replacement for vacuums, floor machines, carts, and other janitorial equipment Financial Management & Account Profitability Own profit & loss performance for assigned accounts, managing labor hours, supply costs, and operational expenses to achieve target margins Analyze account-level financial reports to identify cost reduction opportunities and areas of revenue growth Review and approve timesheets, supply orders, and project invoices to ensure accuracy and budget compliance Partner with leadership to develop and manage regional budgets aligned with corporate financial goals Compliance, Safety & Standards Ensure all janitorial and facilities operations comply with OSHA standards, safety regulations, and company policies Maintain proper chemical safety programs including SDS documentation, proper labeling, and staff training on safe handling and disposal Enforce uniform, appearance, and conduct standards across all janitorial, day porter, and snack support porter staff Ensure compliance with client-specific security, badging, and access requirements at each facility Leadership Alignment & Communication Execute on directives from company leadership with urgency, accuracy, and a solutions-first mindset Provide regular operational updates, account performance reports, and timely escalations to executive leadership Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, sales, and finance to support company-wide initiatives and growth objectives Adapt quickly to new account launches, contract changes, and shifting operational priorities
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Required 5+ years of operations management experience in janitorial services, facilities management, or a related field services environment Demonstrated experience leading and managing teams of 25 or more, including supervisors and front-line janitorial or porter staff Direct experience managing day porter programs and/or snack support or hospitality porter operations in a commercial setting Strong understanding of janitorial best practices, cleaning methodologies, chemical safety, and floor care procedures Experience managing accounts with 24/7 or multi-shift service requirements Proven track record in P&L management, labor cost control, and account-level profitability Hands-on HR experience including hiring, scheduling, performance management, and disciplinary action Valid driver's license with ability to travel regularly within the assigned region Preferred Experience with ISSA, BSCAI, or other professional janitorial and facilities industry certifications or training programs Familiarity with janitorial bidding, work loading, and production rate standards Experience supporting or managing snack support, pantry services, or hospitality programs in a corporate environment Proficiency with workforce scheduling software, janitorial operations platforms, or facilities management systems Background in post-construction cleaning, specialty floor care, or commercial carpet care services
