We are a growing, independent restaurant group in Los Angeles looking for a Director of Operations to take the reins of our five unique locations. This is a newly created position designed for a systems-thinker who wants to move beyond just maintaining the status quo and start actively building a legacy. In this role, you will be the primary bridge between ownership's strategic vision and the daily execution on the floor. We aren't looking for a corporate executive who stays behind a desk; we need a mentor and a partner who is ready to get their hands dirty alongside our General Managers. Your primary mission is to empower our five General Managers to lead high-performing, culture-driven businesses. You will establish a consistent operating cadence—from weekly 1:1s and site walkthroughs to quarterly business reviews—ensuring that our high standards for hospitality and cleanliness are met at every unit, every day. You will have full ownership of the aggregated P&L for the group. This means partnering closely with our GMs to manage labor and COGS (with a sharp eye on beverage discipline) while simultaneously shifting the culture from "caretaking" to "business-building." We want a leader who can look at a neighborhood and see a corporate booking pipeline or a local sponsorship opportunity that others might miss. Beyond daily operations, you will act as our Project Lead for company-wide initiatives. Whether we are rolling out a new training platform like Opus, migrating our loyalty systems, or implementing new guest-messaging tools, you will be the one translating that high-level strategy into a clear, executable plan that your teams can actually follow. Who You Are The ideal candidate is a multi-unit veteran who understands the unique pulse of the Los Angeles dining scene. This is a food focused company and your background should show you're not only passionate about operations but about food as well. You should be a "systems-thinker" who can anticipate where friction might happen during a technology rollout and adjust the training to fix it before it starts. You are someone who finds fulfillment in mentoring junior managers and watching them succeed, but you also have the professional backbone to hold teams accountable to elite brand standards. The ideal candidate brings a robust technical background, featuring proficiency in a modern hospitality tech stack such as Toast POS, R365, Opus LMS, and Curate/Iterable. You should possess extensive experience overseeing craft beer, wine, and comprehensive beverage programs, alongside a proven ability to scale private dining, events, and corporate booking initiatives. A deep understanding of California labor law is essential, particularly regarding tip-pool structures and maintaining rigorous FOH/BOH compliance. To round out your qualifications, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Hospitality or Business, or possess an equivalent level of high-level operating experience.
