Reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations, this leader will play a critical role in building centralized operational systems, standardizing best practices, integrating new assets, and driving performance across multiple sites. This is an opportunity for a builder-leader who thrives in complex operational environments and can successfully unify historically independent facilities into a high-performing, scalable organization. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership & Standardization Assess current operational practices, site capabilities, and fleet performance to identify improvement opportunities Design and implement a centralized operations model that drives consistency while maintaining local accountability Standardize fleet-wide operating procedures, work management systems, outage planning, reliability programs, KPIs, and reporting structures Establish performance management rhythms and accountability systems focused on safety, reliability, efficiency, compliance, and cost performance Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all operating sites Fleet Performance & Business Partnership Partner with Asset Management and Finance to optimize production economics, reliability strategies, and capital allocation decisions Lead annual O&M budgeting, outage planning, capital planning, and execution management Develop fleet metrics, dashboards, and root-cause analysis programs to improve operational decision-making Identify and mitigate operational risks including safety, environmental, reliability, cyber/OT, and supply chain concerns Growth, Integration & Multi-Site Leadership Lead operational due diligence and post-acquisition integration efforts for new assets and facilities Develop scalable integration playbooks for onboarding future sites into standardized systems and processes Support operations across multiple generation technologies including thermal, reciprocating, renewables, and storage assets Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Environmental, H&S, HR, Development, Asset Management, and IT/OT teams Leadership & Talent Development Lead and develop Plant Managers and site leadership teams across the fleet Build succession plans, training programs, and long-term talent development strategies Foster a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and proactive safety leadership Drive organizational change and ensure adoption of standardized operating practices Preferred Experience Experience standardizing operations across multiple power generation sites Background supporting M&A integration and operational due diligence Exposure to diverse generation technologies including combined cycle, simple cycle, steam, renewables, and energy storage Strong financial and operational business acumen Proven ability to lead large-scale operational transformation initiatives Physical & Travel Requirements Ability to work in industrial plant environments including climbing stairs/ladders and lifting up to 50 lbs. PPE required in operational areas Ability to travel to plant locations, including occasional overnight travel Flexibility to support extended hours, weekends, or holidays when operationally necessary Safety Commitment Safety is a core value of the organization. The Director of Operations is expected to lead by example and reinforce a visible, proactive safety culture across all facilities while ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental requirements.
