Role SummaryThe Executive Director, Technology Operations & Strategy serves as a key operational leader within the technology organization, partnering closely with executive leadership to drive strategic initiatives, optimize business operations, and ensure organizational effectiveness. This role bridges strategy and execution by providing oversight of budgeting, vendor management, governance, portfolio management, reporting, and operational planning. The ideal candidate is a highly organized and business-focused leader who excels at building structure, improving processes, and driving accountability across complex stakeholder environments.

Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with senior technology leadership to oversee day-to-day operations and advance organizational priorities.

Serve as a strategic advisor, translating business objectives into executable operational plans.

Develop and maintain governance frameworks, operational processes, and performance management practices.

Lead planning, administration, forecasting, and monitoring of operating and capital budgets.

Create financial reports, dashboards, forecasts, and executive-level presentations to support decision-making.

Manage relationships with vendors, consultants, and service providers, including contract administration and performance evaluations.

Oversee technology project portfolio governance, tracking project progress, risks, budgets, and resource allocation.

Develop and maintain operational metrics, key performance indicators, and executive dashboards.

Support compliance initiatives, audits, policy development, and organizational reporting requirements.

Build strong partnerships across academic, administrative, and business functions to ensure alignment with institutional objectives.

Facilitate strategic planning sessions, leadership meetings, and cross-functional initiatives.

Identify opportunities for operational efficiency, cost savings, and continuous improvement.
