Leaders here are trusted to make decisions and drive results What You'll Do As an Operations Manager, you'll lead day-to-day hauling operations while developing your leadership team and driving performance across safety, service, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise drivers and frontline supervisors in daily collection operations Monitor routes and staffing; adjust resources in real time to meet service demands Partner with the District Manager on budgeting and P&L performance Coach, develop, and hold accountable a team of frontline leaders Conduct field inspections and safety audits to ensure compliance and best practices Handle and resolve customer escalations with professionalism and urgency Oversee environmental, OSHA, and local regulatory compliance Set and execute short- and long-term operational goals Drive a strong safety culture and continuous improvement mindset What We're Looking For 5+ years of leadership experience in a fast-paced, people-heavy environment Proven ability to manage large, hourly teams and shifting priorities Experience with operations, logistics, or field-based teams Exposure to budgeting or P&L management Strong decision-making, communication, and leadership skills Proficient in Excel and business systems Bachelor's degree preferred Willingness to relocate for advancement opportunities What Sets You Apart Hands-on leader who thrives both in the field and in the office Strong coach and mentor who develops future leaders Comfortable operating in high-accountability, fast-moving environments Safety-focused with experience in regulated industries (a plus) To be considered for any of our current openings you must complete an application at www.careers.wasteconnections.com .
