The Role You'll work directly alongside the owner to manage the proposal process and coordinate projects from pre-construction through execution—handling estimating, subcontractor coordination, permits, scheduling, and logistics. This is a collaborative operational role that combines technical expertise with strong organizational skills. What You'll Do Estimating & Proposal Development (40%) You'll work closely with the owner throughout the estimating process, taking ownership of key tasks while benefiting from experienced guidance and oversight. Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications alongside the owner Coordinate subcontractor site visits (shared with owner based on project needs) Solicit and level bids from trades (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.) Request and track material pricing (windows, doors, fixtures, etc.) with owner review Review all quotes against drawings to ensure complete scope coverage Follow up with subcontractors on gaps or inconsistencies Compile and organize estimates into clear, accurate proposals Collaborate closely with the owner to finalize pricing and scope Why this matters: Strong estimating skills are the foundation of this role. If you can read drawings, understand scope, and think critically, you'll be able to work independently on key tasks, catch issues early, and keep the estimating process running smoothly. Project Management & Coordination (60%) Prepare and submit required permit documentation (architect files permits) Assist with subcontractor scheduling alongside the owner Assist with project logistics and vendor coordination Maintain organized project documentation and follow-ups Support day-to-day administrative operations What You Bring Strong blueprint reading and construction takeoff experience Proven ability to prepare accurate, detailed estimates Highly organized with excellent follow-through Self-directed with strong ownership of tasks from start to finish Clear, professional communication skills Detail-oriented, proactive, and solution-focused Proficiency in Microsoft Office; QuickBooks experience a plus (or willingness to learn) Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities High-end residential experience preferred
What We Offer Salary:
$80,000 - $100,000 (based on experience) Simple IRA with company match Profit sharing: Eligibility begins after one year, structured to reflect increased responsibility and contribution Consistent schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM No weekend work or after-hours expectations Paid time off and holidays Professional, collaborative work environment Opportunity to grow into a key right-hand role to the owner, with increasing ownership of the estimating and proposal process Location Greenwich, CT. Full-time, 40 hours per week. We're seeking candidates currently living within a 30-minute commute of Greenwich for an immediate start.
