Director of Operations Burger King - 3.3 Hartford, CT Job Details Full-time 11 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Life insurance Qualifications Phone communication Bachelor's degree Full Job Description Director of Operations (Burger King) Reports to: Sr. VP of Operations The Director of Operations will play a critical role in building Rackson's operational capabilities by leading their geographic market to operational excellence, positioning the business for exponential growth. Specifically, this role is a multi-unit position that provides direction and support to the Area Coaches and Restaurant General Managers within a specific Market to ensure delivery of superior service and products, as well as both employee and guest satisfaction. The Director of Operations is also responsible for overall financial performance of the Market, including sales growth, and maximizing profits by meeting budgets for food, labor costs and other controllable costs. As a high-level leader within the organization, the Director will drive HR compliance, program implementation/operationalization, and program measurement within their market. Essential functions include, but are not limited to: Coach, develop, and mentor team members within the market to build Rackson's bench and support succession planning and growth initiatives. Provide consistent feedback to Market leadership team on current and expected performance. Validate market compliance with Rackson initiatives through auditing, training, and performance managing your team, following company's processes to protect business interests. Develop and maintain an employee-oriented and customer-focused organizational culture, emphasizing continuous improvement, high performance, collaboration, teamwork, and process improvements. Oversee interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training of Market leadership team Set clear expectations, follow up, and create a culture of accountability for your field operations teams. Drive transformational change through effective coaching and demonstration of operational competencies. Direct and support Market leaders in delivering brand standards and Rackson's standards by ensuring current systems and processes are being executed with integrity and leading adoption of new initiatives. Collaborate with cross functional teams to develop and test new processes, programs, and procedures to close performance gaps and improve Rackson's operational efficiency. Collaborate with the Finance Team to create restaurant budgets and define KPIs for the Market; own financial results of the Market and responsibility for meeting financial goals. Review and diagnose business health using available metrics, reports, and tools to identify gaps and root causes. Effectively implement solutions to deliver sustainable results and maintain integrity. Lead Market execution of all brand initiatives and identify local partners. Develop and execute partnership plan in compliance with the brand and Rackson guidelines.
What Will Make You Successful :
5+ years' experience working in a multi-unit management capacity with quantifiable results. Strong business acumen and understanding of financial and operational principles. Innate ability to identify talent and develop people. Availability to work all shifts and days of the week as needed within your market. Strong leadership and people management skills, including the ability to supervise, manage, and performance manage junior team members. Commitment to Rackson's vision, values, and goals Ability to translate financial goals into strategic plans, then lead a team to execute those strategic plans. Ability to identify performance gaps, including understanding the root cause, and implementing solutions. Strong partnership and influencing skills, including the ability to work at and across all levels in the organization. Strong project management and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deliver results on time and within budget. Must be disciplined, organized, and resourceful. Solid judgment, discretion, and decision-making, and ability to handle challenging experiences with patience, tact, and professionalism. Strong work ethic that includes punctuality, organization, and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with the ability to communicate clearly and directly. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, inventory management systems, scheduling software, POS systems, etc.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to move freely throughout restaurants. Ability to communicate via phone including hearing and talking. Ability to perform sedentary work such as computer-based work. Ability to utilize close visual acuity such as for creating and analyzing data/spreadsheets, word documents, and graphic designs.
Travel:
Ability to drive a motor vehicle, fly in an airplane, and travel to restaurants and other business locations up to approximately 90% of the time.
