Your Role:
Ensures smoother operation of the facilities: ongoing construction, permitting, and operations. Minimizes operational costs while maximizing productivity and maintaining safety and environmental compliance. Continually works to reduce turnaround time for trucks in and out of the site. Accurately tasks waste volume and weight. Acts as liaison as necessary for community relationships. Actively monitors ongoing permitting issues. Complies with and ensures adherence to safety standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations. Meets all financial review dates and corporate-directed programs in a timely fashion. Oversees personnel of the department, including selecting, coaching, and training employees, and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions. Assists in the budget process as required. Ensures the cleanliness and maintenance of the physical property of the facilities through inspections and a preventative maintenance program with supervisors/employees. Conducts, contributes, and/or attends periodic safety meetings to maintain favorable working relationships with employees and promote maximum morale, productivity, and efficiency. Provides training and presentations as needed in a position and professional manner. Takes an active role in the improvement of safety and health in the workplace Updates and submits revised reports promptly. Maintains reasonable, regular, punctual attendance consistent with Company policies, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act, and other federal, state, and local standards. Adapts to changing duties, as required, based on business needs.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Direct supervision of full-time employees at multiple sites, including transfer stations or materials recovery facilities. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; and resolving problems.
Your Skills:
Knowledge of heavy equipment. Collaborative leader who is process- and results-oriented. Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills. Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Demonstrated computer skills:
PC Scale, Microsoft Office. Demonstrated effective communication (verbal and written) skills.
Requirements/Preferences:
High School diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred. 4-6 years of experience in waste recycling or an industrial or manufacturing environment. 1-3 years of supervisory experience. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred. Driver's license. Hands-on approach. Approach work with a focus on safety. Able to have tough conversations Ability to build relationships.
