Host Company Description:

The host company is a beachfront resort on the Long Island Sound shoreline, with 26 acres of gardens, lawns, and beautiful landscaping. The town of Westbrook, Connecticut is known for its numerous outdoor recreation opportunities, including swimming and sunbathing at West Beach, nature walks and birdwatching at Stewart B. McKinney National Wildlife Refuge, and historical walking tours. Participants can also enjoy a bustling shopping scene, the stunning Gillette Castle State Park, and the Mystic Aquarium a short distance away.

Position Description:

Learn all aspects of food service in an upscale hotel, and be familiar with menu offerings and preparation methods Assist in scheduling and coordinating staff shifts, manage inventory, and assure that health and safety regulations are met Develop effective guest relations skills and practice conflict resolution Advanced supervisory duties

Applicant Qualifications:

To apply for an internship program, you must be a Hospitality/Tourism Management student OR a recent graduate starting the program within 12 months of graduation. To apply for the Trainee program, applicants must have either a degree or professional certificate from a foreign post-secondary academic institution and at least 1 year of prior related work experience in the Hospitality/Tourism Management field acquired outside the United States OR 5+ years of experience in this field.
