Baldwin, Florida | $80,000-$100,000+ Annually | Weekly Pay This Is Not a Desk-Only Management Position Custom Ecology, Inc. is seeking an experienced Regional Operations Manager to lead our Florida operations. We are specifically looking for a proven operations leader with hands-on knowledge of heavy equipment and industrial field operations . The right candidate has managed people, production, equipment, budgets, maintenance coordination, and day-to-day operational challenges in an environment involving yellow iron and mobile equipment such as wheel loaders, excavators/track hoes, skid steers, yard trucks, tractors, trailers, or similar equipment. Experience managing operations in solid waste, transfer stations, landfills, recycling, aggregate, mining/quarry, construction materials, heavy civil, or another equipment-intensive industrial operation is strongly desired. If your management experience has primarily been in an office, retail, hospitality, or other environment without responsibility for heavy equipment and field operations, this position is likely not the right fit. Overview The Regional Operations Manager is responsible for the performance of CEI's Florida operations, including transfer station activities, equipment operations, transportation coordination, staffing, productivity, safety, maintenance coordination, customer relationships, and financial performance. This position requires a leader who can manage from the field and the office —someone comfortable reviewing operating numbers in the morning and walking a transfer station floor with operators later that same day. Operational Leadership Lead day-to-day operations across CEI's Florida facilities and operating locations. Direct and develop supervisors, equipment operators, drivers, yard personnel, and other operational staff. Manage production goals, staffing levels, schedules, equipment utilization, and operational performance. Maintain accountability for daily production and ensure operating targets are achieved. Identify bottlenecks and make real-time operational decisions to keep material and equipment moving. Manage the movement of commodities into and out of transfer stations and disposal facilities. Develop supervisors and frontline employees through clear expectations, coaching, and accountability. Heavy Equipment Operations Provide operational oversight of wheel loaders, excavators/track hoes, skid steers, yard equipment, tractors, trailers, and related heavy equipment. Ensure operators use equipment safely, efficiently, and appropriately for the application. Monitor equipment utilization, operator performance, production, idle time, and downtime. Recognize poor operating practices, unsafe equipment use, and conditions that contribute to unnecessary equipment damage. Work closely with Maintenance to prioritize repairs and ensure preventive maintenance is completed without unnecessarily disrupting production. Help determine whether operational problems are caused by equipment, staffing, process, maintenance, or execution—and take action to correct them. Business & Financial Management Manage operations within established budgets and financial targets. Review operating reports, financial statements, payroll, labor utilization, production data, and other KPIs. Identify opportunities to reduce operating costs while improving production and service. Coordinate with executive leadership on operational and financial performance. Provide accurate operational metrics and reporting to the COO. Identify opportunities for growth, improved utilization, and increased operational efficiency. Maintain strong relationships with customers, landfills, vendors, municipalities, and government entities. Safety & Accountability Safety is a core responsibility of this position—not something delegated entirely to the Safety Department.

The Regional Operations Manager is expected to: Enforce expectations for safe equipment operation. Hold supervisors and employees accountable for following company procedures. Partner directly with Safety, Maintenance, Human Resources, Legal, and other departments. Ensure operational problems and equipment defects are identified and corrected. Maintain clean, organized, productive, and professional operating facilities. Lead by example and create a culture where production and safety are expected to coexist.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Candidates should have: 5+ years of operations leadership experience in an industrial, equipment-intensive, transportation, waste, recycling, aggregate, construction, mining/quarry, or similar environment. Demonstrated experience managing operations involving heavy equipment/yellow iron. Working knowledge of wheel loaders, excavators/track hoes, skid steers, or comparable heavy equipment. Experience directly managing frontline employees, operators, supervisors, or multi-functional operating teams. Experience managing production, staffing, scheduling, equipment utilization, safety, and operational KPIs. Demonstrated ability to hold employees and supervisors accountable for performance. Experience coordinating equipment maintenance and minimizing operational downtime. Ability to analyze operational and financial information and turn it into action. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to learn fleet/operations management systems. Valid driver's license. High school diploma or
