The Landscape Operations & Irrigation Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and overseeing landscaping, lawn maintenance, irrigation, and related field operations. This position provides day-to-day leadership to field personnel while assisting with project planning, scheduling, material and equipment needs, irrigation systems, plant selection, troubleshooting, and completion of customer projects. The position requires a combination of hands-on field knowledge, technical problem-solving ability, horticultural knowledge, irrigation-system experience, and strong supervisory and project-management skills .
Primary duties include:
Supervise, coordinate, and provide direction to landscaping and lawn-maintenance personnel. Plan and coordinate daily work assignments, projects, personnel, materials, equipment, and scheduling. Assist with the design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of irrigation systems. Design and source components for irrigation electrical applications, including pump controls, valves, wiring, and related system components . Diagnose irrigation, electrical, mechanical, and operational problems and determine appropriate solutions. Provide horticultural guidance, including assisting with plant and landscape-material selection appropriate to individual projects. Coordinate multiple projects and priorities while ensuring work is completed efficiently and according to customer requirements. Determine materials, equipment, tools, and other resources necessary for projects and field operations. Assist with troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of field equipment, including lawn-maintenance equipment and mowers. Monitor work quality, productivity, safety, and completion of assigned projects. Communicate with management, employees, vendors, and customers regarding project requirements and operational needs. Assist management with improving workflow, scheduling, resource allocation, and overall operational efficiency. Perform other related supervisory, technical, and operational duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:
Demonstrated experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, irrigation, field operations, construction, agriculture, or a related environment . Previous supervisory, management, project-management, or team-lead experience. Knowledge of irrigation-system operation, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Ability to coordinate personnel, equipment, materials, and multiple work assignments. Strong mechanical and technical problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions in the field. Ability to communicate effectively with employees, management, customers, and vendors. Ability to perform work outdoors and inspect active landscaping and irrigation projects. Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Extensive supervisory, operations-management, or project-management experience strongly preferred. Experience managing multiple teams and multiple simultaneous projects preferred. Experience with irrigation electrical systems, including pump controls, valves, wiring, component selection, and troubleshooting preferred. Knowledge of horticulture, plant selection, landscape materials, and growing conditions preferred. Experience sourcing parts, materials, equipment, and technical components for field projects. Mechanical aptitude and experience troubleshooting or repairing lawn, landscaping, agricultural, or other field equipment. Business ownership or senior business-management experience preferred. Experience developing or implementing systems and processes to improve scheduling, project tracking, workflow, and operational efficiency preferred. Agricultural, farming, landscaping, horticultural, construction, engineering, or related technical experience is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of concurrent projects, changing priorities, personnel, and deadlines.
