FTZ Operations Manager

The FTZ Operations Manager oversees our facilities within the Free Trade Zone. The FTZ Operations Manager will be responsible for managing daily operations, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, overseeing inventory control, and optimizing storage solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy. This role demands strong organizational skills, knowledge of customs and FTZ warehousing regulations, and an ability to lead a team within a fast-paced environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee daily operations within the FTZ facilities to ensure seamless workflow, adherence to schedules, and operational efficiency. Train and develop personnel on all matters related to FTZ operations and compliance. Manage inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy in receiving, storage, and dispatch procedures. Implement and oversee the organization of stock areas to optimize storage, accessibility, and safety. Ensure full compliance with customs laws, Free Trade Zone regulations, and bonded warehousing requirements. Coordinate with customs authorities, the FTZ Office Operations Manager, and the FTZ Director for inspections, audits, and documentation. Maintain accurate records for customs purposes, including entry and exit (shipping and receiving) documentation, inventory logs, and import/export records. Develop and enforce robust inventory management practices, including cycle counts, stock verification, annual counts, and reconciliations. Monitor and track stock, ensuring records are updated accurately and reflect real-time inventory levels. Manage loss prevention strategies and investigate discrepancies to uphold accuracy and accountability. Lead, train, and mentor warehouse staff, fostering a culture of safety, accuracy, and teamwork. Establish clear performance goals for warehouse personnel and regularly review performance, providing guidance for continuous improvement. Ensure adherence to health and safety standards, promoting a safe working environment. Document and analyze KPIs and identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Implement warehouse management SOPs with the best practices and technologies, leveraging automated systems for optimal workflow. Collaborate with other FTZ and Costex departments and teams to improve order fulfillment times and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications Experience:

5+ years in warehouse management, with at least 3 years in a FTZ warehouse or customs-controlled environment.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Skills:

Deep knowledge of bonded warehousing regulations, customs compliance, and Free Trade Zone policies. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with experience managing and developing a team. Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control software. Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks within strict deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CPIM). Experience with ERP systems (e.g., AS400, SAP, Oracle). Bilingual proficiency in

English and Spanish Pay:

$70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
