Full-Time | On-Site About Us Exponents is a $30M fast-paced trade show booth rental company with four facilities San Diego, CA, Las Vegas, NV, Dallas, TX, Orlando, FL in the USA. We pride ourselves on delivering a 100% prebuild guarantee for every client — every booth is assembled in advance at one of our facilities for a thorough quality check before heading to the show site. Our facilities are a critical hub in ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and with flawless quality. Position Overview The Operations Manager will lead all operational activities at our facility, overseeing the prebuild process from preparation to final QC approval. This role requires exceptional coordination with internal teams and vendors to ensure that every booth is ready for shipment on schedule. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with excellent organizational skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to thrive in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment. Key ResponsibilitiesPrebuild Preparation- Ensure booth documents are prepared prior to the week's work.
- Coordinate with the VP of Operations on missing or delayed component issues before the scheduled build date. Production Execution & Scheduling
- Oversee the prebuild of trade show booths according to the weekly schedule provided by the Planning Team.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specification.
- Create and maintain a Project Booklet for each booth, containing all necessary drawings, instructions, and documentation.
- Develop and maintain a weekly production schedule aligned with the overall prebuild plan, ensuring timely execution. Change Management
- Implement any approved changes to booth design, engineering, or graphics during the prebuild process.
- Update all project documentation and ensure teams are working from the latest versions. Resource Management
- Allocate manpower, materials, and floor space effectively to meet project timelines.
- Manage inter-office and on-site requests promptly and efficiently. Quality Control
- Conduct thorough QC inspections during and after prebuild.
- Complete QC documentation and obtain required stakeholder sign-offs before packaging and shipping. Process Improvement & Compliance
- Conduct regular process audits to identify opportunities for increased efficiency and cost savings.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards, venue regulations, and industry best practices. Vendor & Inventory Management
- Coordinate with external vendors for required booth materials and components.
- Manage inventory levels of booth components, tools, and equipment in coordination with the location head. Reporting
- Prepare regular operational performance reports, including:
- On-time prebuild completion rate
- QC pass rate
- Resource utilization efficiency Qualifications
- Proven experience in operations management, preferably in trade shows, event production, signage, or AV tech industries.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple concurrent projects.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with a proven track record of cross-functional collaboration.
- Knowledge of trade show installation processes is highly preferred.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment. Performance Metrics (KPIs)
