  • Tampa, FL Date Friday, September 4, 2026 City Tampa State FL Country United States Working time Full-time Description & Requirements Maximus is hiring a Senior Operational Program Manager to support a large, mission-critical government program.
This role will provide leadership for program operations, workforce management, client engagement, and contract performance while partnering with government stakeholders to ensure mission success. The ideal candidate will bring experience managing large-scale government programs, leading geographically dispersed teams, supporting complex operational environments, and delivering high-quality services in support of federal customers. This position is onsite in Tampa, FL. This position is pending upon contract award. U.S. citizenship is required. Candidates must possess an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance as required for contract performance. . Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage the Project's financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing profit and loss statements to ensure financial targets are met and profitability is maintained.
  • Act as the primary contact for the state client.
  • Ensure program operations are in compliance with all applicable requirements of the contract, as well as State and federal regulations.
  • Ensure goals and objectives are established by Project Manager that support the overall Project strategies.
  • Oversee all project administrative operations including budget, financial controls, and human resources.
  • Plan, develop and schedule priorities for achieving operational and performance goals.
  • Review management, productivity, and financial reports and studies to ensure program objectives are met.
  • Participate in internal audits, research studies, forecasts, and modeling exercises to support Project direction and guidance.
  • Manage operational managers, to include performance appraisals, mentoring, and professional/development guidance.
  • Demonstrate a high level of dedication and proactive leadership in meeting corporate goals and program objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management. Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study and 10+ years of relevant professional experience required.
  • Experience supporting USSOCOM, Special Operations Forces, Human Performance, Military Readiness, or similar mission-focused programs.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale global government contract operations, including responsibility for operational performance, workforce management, compliance, financial oversight, and customer satisfaction.
  • Experience leading geographically dispersed teams in complex operational environments.
  • Familiarity with Personal Services Contracts (PSC) and workforce management requirements.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with senior government officials, military leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders. Preferred Requirements
  • Active Secret clearance preferred.
