Overview Dutchman's Pipe Club is a private golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida, committed to building a culture of excellence through performance, service, and experience. Position Summary The Golf Operations Manager and Caddie Master serves as the heartbeat of the daily golf operation. This individual provides hands-on leadership and ensures that every operational detail is handled with consistency, professionalism, and urgency. This position oversees the club's outside services and caddie program, ensuring that valet, practice facilities, cart staging, starter services, bag storage, and caddie operations are organized, properly staffed, and prepared to deliver an exceptional member and guest experience. Experience Required Current PGA of America member or actively working toward PGA membership. Previous experience in golf operations, outside services, caddie management, or a similar club leadership position is preferred. Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, service-focused environment. Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required by the club's schedule. Availability to respond to operational needs and caddie assignments outside normal working hours. Ability to perform the physical duties associated with an active golf operation. Essential Responsibilities Create and manage staff schedules for all outside operations personnel. Train, develop, and provide ongoing direction to the caddie and golf operations teams. Coordinate daily caddie assignments based on player needs, caddie experience, and availability. Remain available to assign and coordinate caddies after normal operating hours when necessary. Introduce caddies to members and guests and ensure they are properly prepared before each round. Build and maintain a reliable roster of local and on-call caddies. Recruit, interview, hire, and train new caddies to maintain appropriate staffing levels, including exploring international recruiting opportunities when necessary. Oversee the daily operation of valet, practice facilities, cart staging, starter services, bag storage, and the caddie program. Be fully capable of opening and closing the golf operation. Ensure all outside areas are properly set up, clean, organized, and fully prepared before play begins each day. Monitor pace of play and communicate with the starter, golf professional staff, caddies, members, and guests when assistance is needed. Manage cart staging by monitoring cart availability, communicating player destinations, and ensuring golf bags are properly staged for arriving members and guests. Maintain an effective pace-cart rotation and ensure sufficient carts remain available throughout the day. Assign and oversee golf cart washing, detailing, and presentation standards. Submit and follow up on E-Z-GO service requests and repairs for the golf cart fleet. Assist the outside operations team as needed, including picking the range, clearing the short-game area, moving vehicles at valet, supporting the starter, and providing coverage during breaks and lunches. Assist with security training and ensure all golf operations team members are properly trained and capable of staffing the security gate when needed. Maintain the organization and appearance of the bag room and locker room areas. Manage the organization, inventory, and ordering of bag tags, caddie plates, locker room tags, and related operational materials. Monitor and order operational supplies while maintaining appropriate inventory levels. Work in partnership with Food and Beverage, Housekeeping, Golf Course Maintenance, Security, and other departments to support efficient club operations. Monitor staff performance, appearance, professionalism, and adherence to club service standards. Provide hands-on leadership and operational support wherever needed to ensure a smooth daily operation. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Golf Professional or Director of Golf.
