Job Description

Essential Functions and Basic Duties:
Relative to the learning environment and program content The Site Coordinator will be responsible for various duties including but not limited to the following: Understanding the curriculum and the perspective in which it is grounded and is to be delivered, enhanced and customized at the site level. Hone personal skills and abilities to participate in delivering a quality Punana Leo program. Be able to communicate program purpose, focus, intended outcomes and curriculum strategies. Work with the Lead Teacher to consistently evaluate the overall program and content delivery. Relative to sites and facilities Responsible for the maintenance and monitoring of the site, facilty and staffing systems to adminster the Punana Leo program: Facilitate constant and consistent safety trainings. Be fully informed and address all site, staff, and child health and safety emergencies. Understand APL guidelines, policies and procedures. Ensure well-documented, accessible and communicated compliance with relevant internal and external departments and programs. Minimum Qualifications Successful completion of First-Year Hawaiian language and a commitment to continue Hawaiian Language learning. Bachelors Degree Working knowledge of Early Childhood education. . Working Conditions Work is typically conducted Monday through Friday at normal business hours but evening and weekend hours are often required to meet goals and objectives. Must attend and participate in the annual Aha Nuukia staff development, Halawai Nuukia, Hui Kipaepae and other meetings as required.
