- Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Export Supervisor specializing in Air and Ocean Freight to lead our export operations.
In this role, you will oversee the end-to-end management of international freight shipments, ensuring compliance with all regulations, optimizing transportation processes, and maintaining exceptional customer relationships. Your leadership will drive efficiency, accuracy, and service excellence within our logistics team, supporting our global supply chain network. Responsibilities Key ResponsibilitiesSupervision & Leadership Directly supervise Export Department staff, including hiring, training, coaching, performance management, and disciplinary actions. Plan, assign, and direct work to ensure operational efficiency and service quality. Address employee concerns and resolve operational issues in a timely and professional manner. Attend meetings and training sessions as required by management. Compliance & Regulatory Responsibilities Ensure proper preparation of export documentation in compliance with U.S. Department of Commerce and U.S. Treasury Department regulations. Disseminate new FMC regulations received from Head Office and review shipments to ensure compliance. Monitor and review NVOCC tariff filings for the branch. Assist in implementing and training staff on FAA safety regulations as directed by Head Office. Assist in reviewing warehouse procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA standards. Assist in maintaining ISO standards and performing internal audits, as applicable. Follow and enforce NNR's quality system policies and procedures at all times. Export Documentation & Shipments Prepare and/or review Letters of Credit for export transactions and the generation of export bills of lading. Close export consolidations accurately and timely. Oversee Dangerous Goods, live animal and perishable shipments to ensure compliance with DOT, FAA, USDA/DOA, FDA, and U.S. Customs and Department of Commerce regulations. Rates, Sales Support & Customer Service Negotiate rates and space with airlines, steamship lines, and trucking providers, when applicable, to obtain competitive pricing. Prepare and provide customer and internal quotations, including those for overseas partners. Perform customer service duties, including correspondence with customers and overseas partners via email, fax, and other communication channels. Assist the Branch Manager with special projects as assigned. Operational Oversight Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining export operational procedures. Ensure daily export operations comply with established procedures, work instructions, and NNR's Quality Management System. Oversee warehouse handling of export freight to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis and take corrective action when performance falls below established standards. Additional Responsibilities Ensure compliance at all times with NNR USA standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient operations. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Education & Experience High School diploma or GED required. Associate degree preferred, and a minimum of two (2) years of relevant supervisory experience within the industry. Demonstrated understanding of the international freight forwarding business. Strong working knowledge of TSA security requirements, U.S. FMC regulations, and other federal regulations governing international export shipments. Basic ISO training, if applicable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Physical Requirements Flexible and long hours sometimes required. Medium work
