Job Description

A growing custom machinery manufacturer is seeking a hands-on Director of Operations to lead a dynamic manufacturing operation focused on fabrication, CNC machining, and engineered equipment assembly. Position Summary The Director of Operations will provide leadership across all manufacturing and operational functions including fabrication, machining, assembly, scheduling, quality, and production planning. This individual will be responsible for improving operational efficiency, driving accountability, developing teams, and ensuring customer expectations are consistently exceeded. Key Responsibilities Lead daily manufacturing operations across fabrication, CNC machining, and assembly Drive operational efficiency, productivity improvements, and cost reduction initiatives Establish and monitor KPIs related to safety, quality, delivery, and productivity Develop and implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement strategies Partner with engineering and leadership teams to improve production flow and execution Manage staffing, employee development, and performance accountability Improve scheduling, workflow management, and operational planning Ensure compliance with safety standards and quality requirements Support strategic planning, growth initiatives, and operational scalability Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, or related field preferred 8+ years of manufacturing operations leadership experience Strong experience in fabrication, machining, CNC operations, and assembly environments Experience within industrial equipment, OEM, automation, or custom machinery manufacturing preferred Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience strongly preferred Strong ERP/MRP systems knowledge Excellent leadership, communication, and team development skills Proven ability to improve operational performance and drive results Ideal candidate has experience in custom machinery manufacturing, CNC machining, fabrication, assembly operations, Lean Manufacturing, industrial automation, OEM manufacturing, ERP systems, and operational excellence within a high-mix engineered-to-order manufacturing environment. $180,000.00 - $220,000.00 per year
