Job Description

Summary:
In this position, you will lead plant operations crew members in a medium-sized industrial processing plant. Your primary goal is to assure safe and efficient production by working with and supporting directives from the Operations Manager and delegating assignments and responding to changing conditions in a timely manner. Essential Functions include but are not limited to: Leads the crew using the discipline of SOP's, measurement, analysis and effective troubleshooting. Assist Operations Manager with maintaining and updating production process checklist and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Responsible for new hire training, current process operator training and Team Lead development to ensure all skills and knowledge to perform job duties. Provide feedback as needed. Analyzes specifications and control continuous operation of ethanol processing and co-products. Manages processing schedules, operating logs, test results of ethanol, other product samples, and laboratory recommendations to determine changes in equipment controls required to produce specified quantity and quality of product. Assists with employee performance appraisals, engages in disciplinary action when necessary, and administers time clock and time off issues. Coordinates and controls the inventory of chemicals to maintain consistent production. Support efforts to maximize production through creative problem solving, adaptation, and correction of process bottlenecks. Respond to plant emergencies, evaluate production problems and recommend corrective action plans. Fosters a culture of safe behavior and environmental compliance at all times. Participates in safety, health, environmental and ongoing training programs. Performs routine housekeeping duties to maintain a clean work environment. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Ability to perform Production Operator duties in ALL areas of production facility Available to work fill in shifts on nights and weekends as needed Understanding of all plant operational processes and procedures, including routine and emergency start-up and shutdown practices. Ability to effectively facilitate problem solving and troubleshooting with multiple people from different areas of responsibility. Ability to give clear and concise direction to others. Familiarity with industrial equipment operations and care Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge in the areas of: planning, organizing, and interpersonal communications Analytical testing and specifications for control points and final product Maintaining a thorough understanding of applicable regulatory requirements of FRA, TTB and state regulations. Valid Driver's License High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
Required Work Environment/Physical Demands:
Must be able to manage confined space entry, climb ladders and steps, lift up to 60 lbs., and work at heights. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is regularly exposed to dusty conditions. The employee is regularly exposed to high noise environments. The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather in all conditions.
