Summary With 1,193 guestrooms, over 200,000 square feet of meeting and event space, multiple food and beverage outlets, and a reputation as one of the premier convention hotels in the country, Hyatt Regency New Orleans offers an exciting opportunity for hospitality leaders looking to elevate their careers in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The Assistant Director of Operations plays a key leadership role in supporting the overall operation of the hotel, working across both the Rooms Division and Food & Beverage Division. This position is designed for an experienced hospitality leader seeking to broaden operational expertise while preparing for future senior leadership opportunities within Hyatt. Working closely with the Director of Operations and hotel leadership team, the Assistant Director of Operations will help drive guest satisfaction, colleague engagement, operational efficiency, and financial performance across multiple departments. Key Responsibilities Support daily operations across Rooms and Food & Beverage departments. Partner with department leaders to drive operational excellence and guest satisfaction. Ensure consistent execution of Hyatt service standards. Analyze operational performance metrics and implement improvement initiatives. Assist in workforce planning, colleague development, and succession planning efforts. Lead cross-functional projects and support major convention and group business operations. Monitor departmental financial performance and help identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost control. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Serve as a visible leader throughout the hotel, supporting both guests and colleagues. Preferred Candidate Profiles Current Directors of Operations at a small to mid-sized hotel who are ready to take the next step into a high-volume, flagship convention property. OR Current Directors of Food & Beverage or Directors of Rooms at a small to mid-sized hotel who are eager to broaden their expertise by learning the other side of hotel operations. OR Current Assistant Directors of Food & Beverage or Assistant Directors of Rooms looking to expand their leadership responsibilities and gain cross-functional operational experience. OR Hospitality leaders who have successfully held department head positions in at least two operational disciplines within a medium-sized hotel environment.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume hospitality environment. Convention hotel experience preferred but not required.
