Job Title:
Labor Foreman / Project Foreman Job Description This role oversees daily field operations on large commercial and environmental construction projects across multiple sites in Massachusetts. The Labor Foreman provides on-site leadership for craft personnel, ensures strict adherence to health and safety standards, and supports the successful delivery of site work and environmental remediation projects from the field perspective. Responsibilities Provide day-to-day on-site leadership and direction for all craft and labor personnel on large commercial and environmental construction projects. Coordinate and oversee site work activities, including environmental remediation and utility construction tasks, to ensure work progresses safely, efficiently, and according to plan. Maintain and promote a strong health and safety culture on site at all times, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Read, interpret, and work from plans and construction drawings to guide field crews and verify that work meets project specifications. Monitor work quality and productivity in the field, addressing issues promptly and providing guidance to team members as needed. Support the planning and sequencing of work, including labor, equipment, and material needs, in coordination with project leadership. Use construction and environmental management knowledge to identify potential field challenges and help implement practical solutions. Communicate clearly and consistently with team members and supervisors regarding progress, safety concerns, and any changes in site conditions. Utilize GPS equipment on site when required to support layout, grading, or other field tasks, where experience allows. Travel to various project sites within Massachusetts, and occasionally within New England as needed, using reliable personal transportation. Perform physically demanding tasks in the field, including pushing, pulling, and lifting more than 50 lbs, working aloft and above shoulder height, and operating in tight quarters when required. Work extended periods on your feet in a range of outdoor conditions, including snow, rain, cold, and heat, while maintaining focus on safety and quality. Essential Skills 10+ years of construction experience, with site work and/or environmental remediation experience strongly preferred. 5-10 years of experience working in a leadership role in the construction field, providing direction to field and craft personnel. Proven ability to demonstrate and maintain a strong commitment to health and safety at all times on active construction sites. Ability to read and interpret plans, blueprints, and construction drawings accurately. Experience in construction, commercial construction, and utility construction environments. Strong leadership mentality with the ability to motivate, guide, and hold field crews accountable. OSHA 10-Hour certification. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation suitable for travel to multiple project locations. Good physical condition and endurance, including the ability to push, pull, and lift more than 50 lbs regularly. Ability to work aloft, climb ladders, staging/scaffolding, and other aerial equipment safely. Ability to work long hours on your feet in varying weather conditions such as snow, rain, cold, and heat. Comfort working above head height and in tight quarters when required by the project. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in environmental construction and environmental management. 40-HourHAZWOPER
training preferred. Possession of a valid Massachusetts hoisting license with 1C/2A designation preferred. Experience utilizing GPS equipment on construction sites is a plus. Work Environment You work primarily on large commercial construction and environmental field projects, spending most of your time on active job sites rather than in an office. The role involves extensive time on your feet and requires working outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions, including snow, rain, cold, and heat. You regularly climb ladders, staging, and scaffolding, and at times work aloft, above your head, and in tight quarters. The environment is fast-paced and safety-focused, with field teams using construction and environmental equipment, GPS tools where applicable, and standard personal protective equipment appropriate for large-scale construction and remediation work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lee, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
