Job Description

Bakery Operations Manager The daily loaf Position Overview We are seeking a dependable, experienced, and hands-on Bakery Operations Manager to oversee daily bakery operations, lead afternoon and evening production, and help drive the continued growth of the business. We are specifically looking for someone with strong baking and bread-making experience. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of bread production, and baking processes, combined with leadership ability, operational organization, and accountability. Beyond managing day-to-day operations, this role plays a key part in improving efficiency, supporting business growth, enhancing customer satisfaction, and contributing to new product development. Spanish language skills are a strong plus, as this role involves daily coordination with bakery staff and team members.
Schedule Bread production:
Five full days per week Sixth day: Lighter production for select customers Typical production start time: Around 1:00 PM Hours extend through production, baking, and packaging cycles Key Responsibilities Operations & Production Oversight Lead afternoon and evening bakery operations, ensuring efficient coordination across all production stages while maintaining workflow organization and consistently achieving production targets and timelines. Baking & Bread Production Leadership Apply hands-on baking and bread-making expertise to oversee dough preparation, fermentation, and baking processes, ensuring product consistency, quality, and adherence to established standards. Customer Communication & Satisfaction Manage and/or conduct daily customer communication with professionalism and accuracy, confirming orders, addressing concerns proactively, and supporting strong long-term customer relationships. Quality Control Uphold high standards for product freshness, appearance, and taste while ensuring strict adherence to recipes, procedures, and food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards. Inventory & Resource Management Monitor ingredient usage and inventory levels to maintain operational readiness, minimize waste, and communicate ordering and supply needs. Team Leadership Supervise and support bakery staff across production areas, fostering accountability, teamwork, and workflow discipline while leading by example. Sales & Marketing Support Assist in driving sales growth by supporting customer engagement, identifying opportunities to expand accounts, and contributing ideas for promotions, product offerings, and market development. Product Development & Improvement Contribute to new product development and the refinement of existing offerings while identifying opportunities for operational and product enhancements. Qualifications Required
