General safety knowledge and awareness of OSHA guidelines pertaining to telecommunications 1910.268. An ability to exercise mature judgment and suggest the appropriate action when working with employees, management, or customers. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Pass a background check, drug test, DOT physical, and provide a qualified RMV driving record. 3-5 years of utility/telecommunications experience (preferred). 3 years of supervisory experience (preferred).   • Civil is responsible for overseeing digging, drilling, and all other ground related operations.
They serve as the go-to subject matter experts for decisions on active jobs sites. Their goal is to be hands-on when needed, fostering a safe, positive, and can-do culture that aligns with commitments to quality and timely project completion for the customer. They will train, mentor, correct, and make suggestions to improve performance, focusing on jobsites that require the most direct oversight, such as emergency restoration services. Field supervisors are an integral part of ensuring the field operates at optimum capacity. Responsibilities Field Leadership Provide supervision for the field operations group, performing a wide range of tasks to support strategic initiatives and special projects. Assist field crews during regular work periods and serve as the On-site Lead for outage crews during emergencies. Supervise teams on active jobsites, ensuring crew safety and collaboration with other departments. Train new hires and trainees in the trade. Monitor crew performance based on skill level and potential. Coordinate and supervise daily crew tasks related to digging and placing products. Complete timecards and yearly performance reviews. Communication and Reporting Serve as the main point of contact for customers and internal staff regarding project-related questions. Conduct site walks with Project Managers as subject matter experts. Review blueprints of projects and oversee production. Participate in interviewing and onboarding, monitor performance, and conduct reviews. Address delays, mechanical challenges, and employee conflicts. Quality and Safety Adhere to industry-specific, local, state, and federal regulations; promote a safe working environment and report safety violations to the Coastal Safety Coordinator or Director of Field Operations. Oversee project-related work and assume full responsibility for its quality and timeliness. Facilitate daily toolbox talks and weekly safety inspections, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Ensure company vehicles meet cleanliness, operational, and safety standards. Monitor and recommend equipment, vehicle, and PPE needs. Skills Effective in-person and electronic communications skills, attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work. Ability to work in a dynamic environment, while adapting to the various personalities and experience levels of the line crew members. Ability to meet productivity standards and complete work within established deadlines. Experience in all areas of telecommunications construction including overhead, underground cable installs and general utility work including directional drilling.
